Deletion of Gαq in the telencephalon alters specific neurobehavioral outcomes
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Deletion of Gαq selectively from the telencephalon produced a deficit in spatial memory and enhanced sensitivity to cocaine‐induced locomotion. These phenotypes differ from previous characterizations of the global Gαq knockout, which produces profound hypoactivity, diminished cocaine responsiveness, and growth retardation. Cortical Gαq signaling may be protective against psychostimulant drugs. (Source: Synapse)

Voluntary Exercise Partially Reverses Neonatal Alcohol‐Induced Deficits in mPFC Layer II/III Dendritic Morphology of Male Adolescent Rats
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Graphical Abstract. The authors demonstrate that neonatal exposure to alcohol significantly decreases dendritic complexity and spine density in Layer II/III medial prefrontal cortical neurons of animals raised in social housing (SH). However, voluntary exercise in a running wheel (WR) may ameliorate these alcohol‐induced deficits. (Source: Synapse)

Chronic Social Isolation During Adolescence Augments Catecholamine Response to Acute Ethanol in the Basolateral Amygdala
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT TEXT Adolescent social isolation resulted in decreased extracellular DA and an augmented dopaminergic and noradrenergic response to acute ethanol.  These changes may promote increased BLA excitability and a strengthening of the BLA‐NAc glutamatergic projection, alterations that could contribute to the elevated ethanol intake observed in rats subjected to chronic early‐life stress. Effects of TRPV1 on the hippocampal synaptic plasticity in the epileptic rat brain
This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. A higher expression of TRPV1 in the hippocampal CA1 and CA3 areas in epileptic conditions is accompanied by a functional impact on the synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. (Source: Synapse)
