Could crowd funding be the next step to get drugs to market?
Pure Transplant Solutions, a biotech from Austin, Texas, has taken a new step in order to get funding for their medial device. They're looking for funding for the ARC device: The ARC device works by removing a donor recipient’s antibodies that causes the rejection of organs that aren’t biological matches. If successful, the device will make any available organ viable for transplant into a patient in need and reduce the typical waiting time for a transplant from seven years to less than two years. Its use will also help to lengthen the usefulness of donated organs for their recipient since all bodies eventually attack...

A New Approach to Measuring ROI
Today's guest post comes from Megan Kearney, Marketing Associate at TrialCard. She has worked for TrialCard for almost a decade years. In that time, she has held multiple positions starting as a Call Center Representative, then Project Manager, then Executive Project Manager and now Marketing Associate. For many years, there has been a surprisingly low level of activity related to the demonstration of the return on investment of copay programs, voucher programs, and the like. To some degree, this was probably because the answer seemed axiomatic: “Of course these programs generate ROI because more prescriptions are b...

Electronic Health Records and Social: What does the future hold?

But what ...

mHealth & Healthcare Integration: What's taking so long?
We all know that mHealth is here to stay.  Information Week predicts this industry could reach $61 billion in revenue by 2017.  For everyone with a SmartPhone, one of every two people have downloaded an app that can be considered a mHealth app.  That's up from 12% of all SmartPhone users in 2012.  What are a few of the setbacks that are holding the industry back from fully adopting them as a healthcare tool?  Delayed regulation on Apps that can be considered medical devices is one. The other is full integration into the healthcare system.  The information should also be added to a patient's ca...

ePharma Session Spotlight: Smaller, Smarter and Faster: How to Launch a Big Brand with Start-Up Resources
Smaller companies are at both an advantage and disadvantage when it comes to launching marketing campaigns that need to compete against companies with larger budgets. At ePharma Summit West, we'll address this in a case study featuring XenoPort.  They relaunched a brand after taking it over from a larger company. Hear how they quickly created a big-impact campaign, with the help of Heartbeat Ideas. ePharma Summit West will take place Septemb...
