What does today's Internet user look like?

As we saw last week, the Internet is not going to slow down as a tool for people to research their health. So what does the Internet user look like today? InternetServiceProviders.org recently published an infographic detailing the future profiel of the internet user.  Worldwide, 2.4 billion people use the internet.  That's roughly 39% of the world's population.  By 2017, it's predicted that there will be over 1 billion additional users compared to this number.  Also, due to the fast-selling SmartPhone, it's expected that mobile browsing will surpass desktop browsing by 2015. One of the most interesting facts that the infographic shares is that there are more SmartPhones in the world than the population of Brazil. How does this industry get online and interact with these new users?
