Increased tumor distribution and expression of histidine‐rich plasmid polyplexes
ConclusionsAlthough mechanisms underlying the efficiency of gene expression are probably multifactorial, unpacking of the H2K polyplex within the tumor appears to have a significant role. Further development of these H2K polyplexes represents an attractive approach for plasmid–based therapies of cancer. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Correction of murine mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIA central nervous system pathology by intracerebroventricular lentiviral‐mediated gene delivery
ConclusionsThe current study demonstrates the efficacy of the intraventricular injection as a tool to target the brain with therapeutic genes in adult MPS IIIA mice, and provides evidence supporting this approach as potentially an effective means to treat CNS pathology in MPS IIIA patients. Gene delivery targeted to oligodendrocytes using a lentiviral vector
ConclusionsLentiviral gene delivery using oligodendrocyte‐specific promoter may achieve widespread and long lasting expression selectively in oligodendrocytes offering a possibility for gene therapy in certain leukodystrophies, although the relatively low rates of oligodendrocyte transduction is a limitation that remains to be overcome. Development of receptor‐targeted gene delivery system using CXCR4 ligand‐conjugated cross‐linking peptides
ConclusionsCXCR4‐targeted cross‐linking peptides should be considered as useful tools for non‐viral gene delivery into tumor and mesenchymal stem cells. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: The Journal of Gene Medicine)

Optimization of a non‐viral transfection system to evaluate Cox‐2 controlled IL‐4 expression for osteoarthritis gene therapy in vitro
ConclusionWe hypothesize that this approach has significant potential to be translated into a useful anti‐inflammation therapy. Molecular tools such as the described therapeutic plasmid pave the way for a local‐controlled, self‐limiting gene therapy. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Low RNA translation activit limits the efficacy of hydrodynamic gene transfer to pig liver in vivo
ConclusionsThe results suggest that the low activity of mRNA translation limits the final efficacy of the gene transfer procedure. On the other hand, the gold nanoparticles study suggests that elongated DNA conformation could offer advantages in that the access of 15‐nm particles is very limited. Improved nuclear delivery of antisense 2'‐Ome RNA by conjugation with the histidine‐rich peptide H5WYG
ConclusionsThe results of the present study show that the conjugation of 2'‐Ome antisense RNA to peptide H5WYG is a good strategy for improving its cytosol delivery, accumulation in the nucleus and antisense activity. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. (Source: The Journal of Gene Medicine)
