Polymorphisms in homologous recombination repair genes and the risk and survival of breast cancer
ConclusionsThe findings suggested that the polymorphisms in HRR genes were associated with breast cancer risk (RFC1 rs6829064) and prognosis (NRM rs1075496 and LIG3 rs1052536), while RAD54L rs1710286 and RPA1 rs11078676 had null associations with breast cancer. Polymorphisms in the SNRPN gene are associated with obesity susceptibility in a Spanish population
ConclusionsTo our knowledge, this is the first study reporting an association between variability in the SNRPN gene and the risk of being obese. Interestingly, it was the major allele of each SNP that was found to be associated with the risk of weight gain. Further studies analyzing this locus and the possible additive deleterious capability of SNP combinations could be useful for demonstrating the development of obesity. Stent ‐mediated gene and drug delivery for cardiovascular disease and cancer: A brief insight
Abstract This review concisely recapitulates the different existing modes of stent‐mediated gene/drug delivery, their considerable advancement in clinical trials and a rationale for other merging new technologies such as nanotechnology and microRNA‐based therapeutics, in addition to addressing the limitations in each of these perpetual stent platforms. Over the past decade, stent‐mediated gene/drug delivery has materialized as a hopeful alternative for cardiovascular disease and cancer in contrast to routine conventional treatment modalities. Regardless of the phenomenal recent developments achieved by coronary inter...
