PSMA PET/CT and staging high risk prostate cancer: a non-systematic review of high clinical impact literature.
CONCLUSIONS: PSMA PET/CT has the potential to become a gold standard in staging high risk prostate cancer, providing clinicians with accurate information on the extent of disease within the prostate and the presence of loco-regional and distant metastatic disease within a single scan. The Urothelium, the urinary microbioma and men LUTS: a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: The urothelium and the urinary microbiota are still poorly studied in men with LUTS. Most of the evidence and the hypothesis on the relationship between urothelium/urinary microbiota and LUTS comes from animal/in vitro evidence while clinical trials are lacking. These pathways seem interesting even in LUTS pathogenesis in men but their possible role as a new therapeutic target is still an open debate. Metastasis-directed therapy and prostate-targeted therapy in oligometastatic prostate cancer: a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: We performed a comprehensive overview of the current literature on MDT and PTT. The feasibility of MDT and PTT is supported by several retrospective studies. Nevertheless, there remains a lack of high-quality trials to prove its survival benefits. Results from ongoing prospective trials data are awaited. Intracorporeal versus extracorporeal urinary diversion after robotic-assisted radical cystectomy: evidence from a systematic review and pooled analysis of observational studies.
CONCLUSIONS: The approach of urinary diversion does not have a considerable impact on pathological, perioperative and oncological outcomes in patients undergoing RARC. The benefits conferred by IUD are lower EBL, lower risk of gastrointestinal complications, and uretero-ileal anastomotic stricture. Subgroup analysis of patients with ileal conduit showed similar results on perioperative and complication outcomes. Well-designed trials conducted by large volumes and experienced surgeons, and reporting complications based on standardized methodology are still warranted. The role of MRI-guided biopsy for diagnosis of prostate cancer; comparison between FUSION and "IN-BORE" approaches.
CONCLUSIONS: In-bore MRI-GB approaches represent a promising technique that may offer some advantages compared to standard systematic FUSION-GB despite higher costs of in bore-procedure. Our experience, although not showing a clear advantage between the FUSION technique and the "in- bore" technique, resulted safe and feasible and represents a viable procedure for the diagnosis and characterization of prostate especially in a subgroup of patient with clinically significant disease. Further investigations are needed in order to identify the best approach for MRI-GB. PMID: 32456413 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] ...

A systematic review and meta-analysis of prognostic impact of different Gleason patterns in ISUP grade group 4.
CONCLUSIONS: GS 4 + 4 in patients with PC was associated with better OS and positive surgical margin rates. It seems likely that there is heterogeneity within ISUP GG 4. However, caution should be exercised in interpreting the conclusions drawn from this study, given the limitations of the study, which include the heterogeneity of the population of interest and the retrospective nature of the primary data evaluated. Conservative management of urinary incontinence following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.
CONCLUSIONS: The use of pads is associated with a detrimental effect on quality of life thus active treatment for UI post-RARP are warranted. PFMT has the main advantage to shorten the time for recovery. The use of solifenacin seems to not offer striking advantages in UI following RARP. Future studies should focus on testing the efficacy of these treatments when used after robotic vs. open radical prostatectomy. Efficacy of modified radical prostatectomy technique for recovery of urinary incontinence in high-grade prostate cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: Younger age, low BMI, and modified surgery were independent predictors of urinary continence recovery after RP in patients with high-grade PCa. These findings may help surgeons to give pre- and postoperative advice to patients with high-grade PCa about urinary continence recovery after RP. Androgen deprivation therapy prescription, blood and bone-density testing in a French population-based study exploring adherence to the French prostate cancer guidelines.
Authors: Scailteux LM, Balusson F, Oger E, Vincendeau S, Mathieu R Abstract The safety profile of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is well known, and cardiovascular and osteoporosis risk factors should be assessed before ADT initiation. In order to examine whether the French Committee of Urologic Oncology prostate cancer (PCa) guidelines were properly followed by clinicians, including urologists, oncologists and radiotherapists, we used a nationwide comprehensive cohort of prostate cancer patients, who were new ADT users in 2011 and were followed up to 2013. Reimbursements for biological examinations and...
