Epidemiology and unmet needs of bladder cancer in Italy: a critical review.
CONCLUSIONS: Bladder cancer represents a health burden in Italy, with high incidence and prevalence rates, and important unmet needs for patients, including the limited therapeutic options for advanced/metastatic cancers, the low quality of life after radical cystectomy, the lack of widespread clinical pathway schemes, and the low patients empowerment.

The concealed penis: the "two corners" surgical technique.
CONCLUSIONS: The "two-corners" technique allows easy and effective correction of the concealed penis in both congenital and acquired conditions. It can be performed as outpatient procedure and results are stable at long-term follow-up.

Laparoscopic ureterolithotomy versus ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy for large proximal ureteral stones: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: LU could provide a higher stone-free rate and fewer severe complications compared with URSL with holmium laser for large proximal ureteral stones. More importantly, LU could also reduce the postoperative ureteral stricture rate.

Lower urinary tract and gastrointestinal dysfunction in sportswomen: systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies.
CONCLUSIONS: All the analysed studies showed bias. This meta-analysis indicated that competitive sport activities represent a risk factor for urinary incontinence and gastrointestinal disorders. To prevent urinary leakage athletes should be instructed to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.

Risk of Gleason Score 3 + 4 = 7 prostate cancer upgrading at radical prostatectomy is significantly reduced by target biopsy compared to standard biopsy technique.
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated that TBx technique significantly reduced the risk of GS 3+4 upgrading at RP, compared to SBx one. The rate of upgrading wassignificantly associated with GP4>16%, mostly when cribriform sub-type was present at biopsy specimens.

Which patients with clinical localized renal mass would achieve the trifecta after partial nephrectomy? The impact of surgical technique.
CONCLUSIONS: ASA score, UCS involvement and the surgical technique were independent predictors of trifecta outcome. Our nomogram could facilitate the preoperative counselling and to choose the best surgical approach for PN.

How many surgically-treated angiomyolipomas are related to tuberous sclerosis complex? Insights from a retrospective multicenter study.
CONCLUSIONS: A non-negligible proportion of surgically-treated, putative sporadic AMLs were reclassified as potentially hereditary (TSC-related). As TSC patients may be treated with targeted therapies, our findings may increase urologists' awareness of TSC-related AML and prompt the design of future studies evaluating targeted diagnostic pathways for these patients.

A systematic review and meta-analysis comparing the outcomes of open and robotic assisted radical cystectomy.
CONCLUSIONS: RARC does exhibit known benefits of minimally invasive surgery, although the impact of an enhanced recovery pathway is probably more important than the surgical approach in determining post-operative morbidity. To date, well designed prospective studies have found that RARC yields non- inferior oncologic outcomes compared to ORC.

Combined reporting of surgical quality, cancer control and functional outcomes of Robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal orthotopic neobladder into a novel Trifecta.
CONCLUSIONS: Learning curve in RARC-iON has a significant impact on achievement of Trifecta. This tool combines accurate measurement of surgical proficiency with an independent predictive value in assessing 3-yr OS probabilities.

What is the standard surgical approach to large volume BPE? Systematic review of existing randomized clinical trials.
CONCLUSIONS: According to our review no technique may be considered better than the other when treating large adenomas. Studies are still lacking to prove long term efficacy and future studies should clarify the role of prostatic artery embolization and minimally invasive simple prostatectomy in the management of prostates larger than 80 ml.
