Predictive factors for opioid-free management after robotic radical prostatectomy: the value of the SP ® Robotic Platform.
CONCLUSIONS: In this series, after robotic radical prostatectomy the use of a less invasive approach (SP-EPP), a shorter LOS and a lower BMI, were predictive of opioid-free status. PMID: 33256359 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

The surgical learning curve for salvage robot-assisted radical prostatectomy: a prospective single-surgeon study.
CONCLUSIONS: Our data may suggest a decreasing trend in terms of OT and EBL through the sRARP learning curve. While morbidity remained stable through the time, radiographic anastomotic leaks trended towards a decline. A higher degree of NS was observed through the groups and there was a slight correlation trend between surgical expertise and potency recovery. PSM and GS 8-10 were predictors of BCF and non-radiation primary treatment predicted a better continence after sRARP. Non-papillary percutaneous nephrolithotomy for treatment of staghorn stones.
CONCLUSIONS: The use of non-papillary access for PCNL in the treatment of staghorn stones resulted in promising results in terms of stone-free rate, operating time, complication rate, hemoglobin drop and reduced the number of percutaneous tracts. These parameters of the current investigation were directly comparable to current literature. The safety and efficacy of a non-papillary approach for the treatment of staghorn stones could be advocated. Comparing the risk of cardiovascular disease following GnRH agonist and GnRH antagonist therapy for patient with prostate cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis indicates that compared treatment with GnRH antagonist, risks of CVD in PCa patients was the same as GnRH agonist. Further RCTs are strongly required to provide more definitive evidence. PMID: 33242948 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Postoperative outcomes of Fast Track enhanced recovery protocol in open radical cystectomy: comparison with standard management in a high-volume center and Trifecta proposal.
CONCLUSIONS: FT protocol can safely consent faster bowel recovery and earlier discharge after RC, plus reducing readmission rates. Using a Trifecta incorporating essential perioperative outcomes, could improve standardized quality assessment for RC. Impairment of autophagy may represent the molecular mechanism behind the relationship between obesity and inflammation in patients with BPH and LUTS.
CONCLUSIONS: Here we confirm the association between obesity and prostatic inflammatory infiltrates and present the first evidence of autophagy deregulation in obese patients with LUTS/BPH. Further studies should better investigate this relationship and provide new possible therapeutic targets. PMID: 33200897 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

The impact of anterior calyceal stones on the outcomes of percutaneous nephrolithotomy for complex kidney stones: a comparative study.
CONCLUSIONS: The presence of complex kidney stones with anterior calyceal extension are associated with higher residual stones rates in the anterior calyx. Also, it increases multiple access, the operation time, and level of hemoglobin drop. PMID: 33200898 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Urologica e Nefrologica)

Holmium laser enucleation of prostate versus minimally invasive simple prostatectomy for large volume ( ≥ 120 ml) prostate glands: a prospective multicenter randomized study.
CONCLUSIONS: This prospective randomized study is the first to compare extraperitoneal LSP, RASP and HoLEP in the treatment of LUTS secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia for prostate volumes ≥ 120 ml. Our findings confirm the safety and efficacy of MISP, demonstrating its equivalence in functional outcomes and perioperative morbidity in comparison to HoLEP.
