Risk factors and prognostic implications for pathologic upstaging to T3a after partial nephrectomy.
CONCLUSIONS: Larger tumor size and increased age are associated with pathological upstaging to T3a for clinical T1 tumors treated with partial nephrectomy. Steps to improve identification of occult pT3a disease are necessary as its occurrence significantly increased the likelihood of a PSM, both in a high volume multicenter cohort, as well as, a national data registry.

Fluoroscopy-free techn ıque is relıable and safe in retrograde intrarenal surgery.

Comparison of diagnostic efficacy by two urine PCA3 scores in prostate cancer patients undergoing repeat biopsies: a meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Our meta-analysis suggested that when the PCA3 score cutoff value was 20, the unnecessary puncture was reduced and obtained a higher diagnostic efficacy.

The pathologist's role in the detection of rare variants of bladder cancer and analysis of the impact on incidence and type detection.
CONCLUSIONS: The presence of a dedicated urological anatomical pathologist is of paramount importance and significantly increases the detection rate of not-transitiona cell carcinoma bladder cancer types, but it does not increase the concordance rate between histological diagnoses in TURBT and radical cystectomy specimens.

Risk factors for the delay in the diagnosis of penile lesions: results from a single center in Italy.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients education regarding this pathology and its potential danger is inadequate and thus it is necessary to implement a campaign of information and prevention in order to reduce delayed diagnosis.

Clinical and histopathological features of carcinosarcoma of the renal pelvis: a systematic review of a rare tumour.
CONCLUSIONS: Carcinosarcoma of the kidney is a rare tumor of which little is known, especially about pathogenesis and oncological outcomes in the different therapeutic approaches described. Current literature is almost exclusively a case report that does not provide adequate information especially about survival and progression free survival. The creation of a shared database could in a matter of years lead us to increase the information about the oncological outcomes of the various possible treatments.

The occurrence of intraoperative complications during partial nephrectomy has a significant impact on postoperative outcome: results from the RECORd1 project.
CONCLUSIONS: Efforts should be made to minimize the risk of intraoperative complications during PN, and, in that case, patients should be carefully monitored.

Resistance of different guide wires to laser injury: an in-vitro experiment.
CONCLUSIONS: Both lasers revealed a harmful effect on the three tested guide-wires. There was an association between the degree of injury and the amount of holmium:YAG laser energy and thulium:YAG laser power. The guide-wire Zebra proved to be the safest when using holmium:YAG laser and the PTFE guide-wire the most resistant to laser thulium:YAG. Further studies are necessary to confirm these results.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and genitourinary cancers: a narrative review.
CONCLUSIONS: Integrated parts of HPV (E6 and E7 fractions) have been previously found in cervical, head and neck, anal and penile cancers. Conversely, although the evidence of concomitant HPV infection, integrated viral genome in cancer cells DNA had never been demonstrated in all the other genito-urinary tract cancers, and its role in the tumor genesis remain still largely debated. Salvage radiation therapy after radical prostatectomy: survival analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: At long-term follow-up, excellent outcome results of SRT on BRFS, CRFS, DMFS and PCSS were obtained. Several prognostic factors such as pGS, pT and surgical margin status were found to be predictors of survival.

Rate of misclassification in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy but fulfilling active surveillance criteria according to the European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines on prostate cancer. A high volume center experience.
CONCLUSIONS: Our results indicate that the current criteria for AS cannot reliably differentiate between clinically significant or insignificant PCa and therefore offer limited utility in patient selection. Inclusion of more reliable tools like mpMRI novel biological markers might contribute to refine the current AS criteria.

Suctioning flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy in the oblique supine lithotomy position and supine lithotomy position: a comparative retrospective study.

Reevaluation of the efficacy of tranexamic acid in reducing blood loss in percutaneous nephrolithotomy: a randomized clinical trial.
CONCLUSIONS: Tranexamic acid administration is not associated with significant reduction of PCNL-related blood loss. Our findings are unlike the results of few recent studies, make it necessary for further similar trials to be conducted before widespread use of the drug in patients undergoing PCNL.
