Circulating tumor cells as prognostic biological marker in different stages prostate cancer and the effect of different therapeutic approaches on their expression.
CONCLUSIONS: The expression of PSA, PSMA, EGFR and AR on CTCs appears to be absent in the pretreatment samplings in cases of localized prostate cancer. The same markers are hyper-expressed before treatment mostly in metastatic prostate cancer and can relate with early biochemical relapse.

Extended pelvic lymph node dissection during radical prostatectomy: comparison between initial robotic experience of a high volume open surgeon and his contemporary open series.
CONCLUSIONS: RARP requires significant learning curve to reduce operative room time and obtain PSM comparable to those of an ORP high-volume surgeon. On the contrary, the quality of ePLND during RARP seems to be not related to the number of procedures performed, allowing removal of a number of LNs that is clinically comparable to ORP.

Pelvic dimensions do not impact on complications and operative difficulty in radical cystoprostatectomy and orthotopic neobladder.
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with smaller pelvises might undergo more difficult surgeries. However, it seems that small sized pelvis does not impact on operative difficulty and complication rate in radical cystoprostatectomy and orthotopic neobladder.

Comparison of Guy's Stone Score and Clinical Research of the Endourological Society nomogram for predicting surgical outcomes after pediatric percutaneous nephrolithotomy. A single center study.
CONCLUSIONS: CROES nomogram is associated with the SFR while GSS is not. Both scoring systems do not have predictive accuracy on complication status. Further studies are required to make modifications in the scoring systems in the pediatric population.

In the last forty years Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) has been an effective technique to treat kidney and ureteral stones. Nowadays, ESWL is still playing a role for stone treatment and it is a primary option in different guidelines. New technologies are available for endourologists, but this procedure still resists. This narrative review will shortly resume the history of ESWL, its clinical application, limits and specific uses.

The efficacy and safety of string stents after retrograde intrarenal surgery for urolithiasis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Non-string stents affected less the patients' QoL, in terms of general health and urinary symptoms, caused less stent related pain in cases of stent in situ and caused stent dislodgment in fewer patients. On the contrary, string stents caused less pain at extraction. All the aforementioned differences did not reach statistical difference.

Current role of robotic bladder cancer surgery.
CONCLUSIONS: As current evidence shows, RARC seems as a technically feasible and safe procedure, providing equivalent perioperative and oncological results compared to ORC. More prospective, randomized-controlled trials are necessary to draw definitive conclusions on all comparative aspects.

Urethral duplication in male epispadias: a very uncommon association. Review of Literature.
CONCLUSIONS: Urethral duplication in association with epispadias is a rare urogenital abnormality. No classification is universally accepted. Based on our experience, we believe that the presence of any duplication should be carefully searched during surgery for male epispadias.

Testis-sparing surgery for testicular masses: current perspectives.
CONCLUSIONS: According to the literature, testis sparing surgery is a safe and feasible procedure for patients presenting a benign small testis masses. The enthusiasm found in the literature should however be tempered as the small number of patients reported in the studies coupled with the absence of a prospective trial represent important limits that need to be overtaken. Therefore more robust and well-designed studies are needed.

Management of stuttering priapism: a nonsystematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: The goal of management of priapism is to achieve detumescence of the persistent erection in order to preserve erectile function. To achieve successful management, urologists should address this emergency clinical condition. In the present article, we review the diagnosis and clinical management of the three types of priapism.

The use of laser as a therapeutic modality as compared to TURP for the small prostate ≤ 40ml: a collaborative review.
CONCLUSIONS: Evidence acquisition from the literature showed that mini-invasive surgeries, including Greenlight laser and Holmium laser incision represent valid alternatives to TURP in prostate ≤ 40 grams. We reported effective results of laser therapy as therapeutic modalities as compared to TURP for the small prostate ≤ 40 ml, both for enucleation and excision or cauterization, however cost effective of laser in the current literature are still scarce and it should be implemented.

Multimodal treatment for high risk locally advanced prostate cancer following radical prostatectomy and extended lymphadenectomy: results of a prospective cohort study with high-dose intensity-modulated radiation therapy, concurrent docetaxel and long-term androgen deprivation therapy.
CONCLUSIONS: This novel multimodal treatment paradigm for high-risk locally advanced prostate cancer has an acceptable level of toxicity and good oncological outcomes observed after a long follow up.
