Lymphangioma circumscriptum post radiotherapy for penile cancer treated with CO ₂ laser
We present the case of a 55-year-old patient with a pathologic history of squamous cell carcinoma of the penis followed by radical penectomy. Due to metastasis to the locoregional lymph nodes, the entire affected area was subsequently treated with radiation therapy, receiving a total dose of 55.8 Gray. Eight years after this treatment, translucent vesicles filled with a clear liquid appeared on the scrotum. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of LC and therapy with CO2 laser was applied, resulting in a favorable outcome. LC of the scrotum may present a long-term radiotherapy-induced complication of this site. Our clinic...

Poikilodermatous mycosis fungoides – rare entity, different treatment modalities
We report a case of a 64-year-old woman, who presented with mottled skin aspect of erythema, poikilodermatous patches (hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, atrophy, and telangiectasia) on more than 80% of the body. Based on clinical, histopathological, and immunohistochemical findings, we established the diagnosis of PMF. Staging procedure determined stage IIA. As skin-directed therapy was the treatment of choice, the patient was successfully treated with psoralen-UVA (PUVA), nbUVB plus retinoid (Re-nbUVB), and PUVA plus retinoid (Re-PUVA), however, with rapid recurrence.  (Source: Acta Dermatovenerologica Croatica)

Drug-induced subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus caused by topical beta blocker - timolol
We present the case of a 78-year-old woman who developed annular polycyclic erythema in sun-exposed areas of the skin, four weeks after an initiation of topical timolol treatment of glaucoma. A resolution of cutaneous manifestations within only a few weeks after a cessation of the agent confirmed a clinical suspicion of drug-induced SCLE. (Source: Acta Dermatovenerologica Croatica)

Orthopedic and cutaneous reactions to nickel after total hip replacement
Implant degradation products have shown signs of a cutaneous allergic response after implantation of a metal orthopedic replacement, loosening and failure of the joints as well as skin rashes, general fatigue, pain, and impaired wounds and bone healing. The prevalence of contact skin sensitivity in patients with a joint replacement device is higher than that in the general population. This delayed hypersensitivity to metallic orthopedic implants is more clearly defined and is a contributing factor to implant failure. Nickel was associated with hypersensitivity responses as the first cause in metallic orthopedic implants as...

We conducted a comprehensive bibliographical study of historic folk literature and interviewed 70 individuals experienced in everyday application of folk medicine in order to categorize available remedies and provide a modern, scientific comment on their effectiveness and dangers. Composi...

Diagnostic and treatment strategies of dermatologists for treating morphea in Hungary
Localized scleroderma is an uncommon disease, only infrequently encountered by dermatologists in private practices or even in larger academic centers. Because of its rarity, current treatment guidelines are mostly based on low-level clinical evidence and expert opinions. The aim of this study was to evaluate treatment strategies to treat localized scleroderma. A questionnaire was developed and sent to dermatologists in Hungary. 101 returned questionnaires were eligible for evaluation. 87.12% of clinicians employed local steroids. Antibiotics were the most preferred systemic agents. Penicillin was used by 32.67% and doxycyc...
