Adjuvant stereotactic body radiotherapy following transarterial chemoembolization in patients with non‐resectable hepatocellular carcinoma tumours of ≥3 cm
ConclusionsThis retrospective study suggests that in patients with HCC tumours of ≥3 cm, treatment with TACE + SBRT provides a survival advantage over treatment with only TACE. Confirmation of this observation requires that the concept be tested in a prospective, randomized clinical trial. Role of hepatic intra‐arterial therapies in metastatic neuroendocrine tumours (NET): guidelines from the NET‐Liver‐Metastases Consensus Conference
ConclusionsStudies of moderate quality support the use of TAE, TACE and RE in hepatic metastases of NETs. The quality and strength of the reports available do not allow any modality to be determined as superior in terms of imaging response, symptomatic response or impact on survival. Radioembolization may have advantages over TAE and TACE because it causes fewer side‐effects and requires fewer treatments. Based on current European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) Consensus Guidelines, RE can be substituted for TAE or TACE in patients with either liver‐only disease or those with limited extrahepatic metastases. Complications following liver resection for colorectal metastases do not impact on longterm outcome
ConclusionsPostoperative complications were not found to influence overall or disease‐free survival in the present series. The number and size of liver metastases were confirmed as significant prognostic factors. (Source: HPB: official journal of the International Hepato Pancreat Biliary Association)

Predictors of repeat transarterial chemoembolization in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma
ConclusionsThe requirement for repeat TACE is associated with older age, increased HCC tumour burden and subtotal TACE‐induced HCC necrosis. Importantly, repeat TACE was not associated with reduced survival. (Source: HPB: official journal of the International Hepato Pancreat Biliary Association)

The role of hepatic artery lymph node in pancreatic adenocarcinoma: prognostic factor or a selection criterion for surgery
ConclusionsIn pancreatic adenocarcinoma patients with LN disease, survival after PD is comparable regardless of HALN status. Therefore, HALN‐positive disease should not preclude the performance of PD. (Source: HPB: official journal of the International Hepato Pancreat Biliary Association)

Survival and tolerability of liver radioembolization: a comparison of elderly and younger patients with metastatic colorectal cancer
ConclusionRadioembolization appears to be as well tolerated and effective for the elderly as it is for younger patients with mCRC. Age alone should not be a discriminating factor for the use of radioembolization in the management of mCRC patients. Is liver transplantation safe and effective in elderly (≥70 years) recipients? A case‐controlled analysis
ConclusionsElderly LT recipients accounted for <3% of all LTs performed during 2007–2011. Selected elderly recipients have perioperative outcomes and survival similar to those in younger adults. (Source: HPB: official journal of the International Hepato Pancreat Biliary Association)
