A prospective study of the impact of fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography with concurrent non‐contrast CT scanning on the management of operable pancreatic and peri‐ampullary cancers
ConclusionsPET/CT in potentially operable pancreas cancer has limitations. However, as a result of its ability to detect metastases, PET/CT scanning is a useful tool in the selection of such patients for surgery. External assessment of the Early Mortality Risk Score in patients with adenocarcinoma undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy
ConclusionsEMRS of 4 is a predictor of tumour‐related mortality at 9 and 12 months after PD for adenocarcinoma. The EMRS was externally assessed in our patient cohort and can be implemented in clinical practice. Clinical implications of this score still need to be studied. The learning curve for robotic distal pancreatectomy: an analysis of outcomes of the first 100 consecutive cases at a high‐volume pancreatic centre
ConclusionsIn this experience, RDP outcomes were optimized after 40 cases. Familiarity with the platform and dedicated training are likely to contribute to significantly shorter learning curves in future adopters. Robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy in the presence of aberrant or anomalous hepatic arterial anatomy: safety and oncologic outcomes
ConclusionsRobot‐assisted pancreaticoduodenectomy is safe and feasible in patients with HAAs and has outcomes similar to those in patients with normal arterial anatomy. (Source: HPB: official journal of the International Hepato Pancreat Biliary Association)

A phase II study of adjuvant gemcitabine plus docetaxel followed by concurrent chemoradation in a resected pancreaticobiliary carcinoma
ConclusionsThis combination of gemcitabine and docetaxel with chemoradiation is feasible and tolerable in the adjuvant setting. Future studies utilizing a different gemcitabine/taxane combination and schedule may be appropriate in the adjuvant treatment of both pancreatic cancer and biliary tumours. Long‐term survival after resection for non‐pancreatic periampullary cancer followed by adjuvant intra‐arterial chemotherapy and concomitant radiotherapy
ConclusionsThis longterm analysis shows that median and longterm survival were improved after IAC/RT in patients with NPPC, probably because of the effective and sustained reduction of liver metastases. The present results illustrate that NPPC requires an adjuvant approach distinct from that in pancreatic cancer and indicate that further investigation of this issue is warranted.
