A novel method for observation of the mandibular foramen: Application to a better understanding of dental anatomy
Conclusions: None of the images in the present study have been seen in other studies. Observation of the retromolar canal from the mandibular canal in particular can help dental students as well as oral and maxillofacial surgeons to understand its morphology. Changes in the Pancreas in Experimental Diabetes and the Effect of Lycopene on These Changes: Proliferating, Apoptotic and Estrogen Receptor α Positive Cells
This study aimed to investigate the changes occurring in estrogen receptor (ER) α‐positive cells, proliferating cells, apoptotic cells and malondialdehyde expression in the pancreas of experimentally induced adult diabetic rats and to determine the effect of orally administered lycopene on these changes. Experimental diabetes was induced using a single dose of 50 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ). Following the administration of STZ, four groups of animals were established: Control+corn oil, control+lycopene, diabetic+corn oil and diabetic+lycopene. The expressions of ER α, Ki‐67, and malondialdehyde were determined through...

Classic galactosemia: Study on the late prenatal development of GALT specific activity in a sheep model
Conclusions: This is the first study on GALT specific activity in the late prenatal stage for a wide variety of organs. Our findings suggest that GALT activity cannot be the sole pathogenic factor accounting for galactosemia long‐term complications, and that some organs/cells might have a greater susceptibility to galactose toxicity. Morphometry, Microstructure, and Wear Pattern of Neornithischian Dinosaur Teeth From the Upper Cretaceous Ihark út Locality (Hungary)
ABSTRACT Teeth of iguanodontian ornithopods and ceratopsians could be remarkably similar, thus the referral of isolated dental material to particular neornithischian clades can be highly problematic. These groups are represented by the rhabdodontid Mochlodon vorosi and the basal coronosaurian Ajkaceratops kozmai in the Upper Cretaceous Csehbánya Formation at Iharkút (western Hungary). Whereas teeth of Mochlodon are common elements at the locality, no dental material belonging to Ajkaceratops was identified until now. Here we used mathematical statistical approaches, as well as tooth wear and dental microstructure analysi...

The unique paired retinal vessels of the gray short ‐tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica) and their relationship to astrocytes and microglial cells
Conclusion: M. domestica possessed the unusual paired vasculature and capillary loops arrangement previously described in the marsupial CNS. These observations in a small laboratory‐friendly marsupial opens up new frontiers to investigate the factors that regulate paired blood vessel development and the functional significance of this arrangement when compared to the anastomotic pattern observed in the retina of eutherian mammals.
