Prevalence of lung cancer in Isfahan Province, Iran
Conclusion The PP for lung cancer in male population was 2.5 times higher than females. There was a 3.2% increase in the Irs over the study period. To facilitate early diagnosis for better management associated to pharmacotherapy or surgical care, our findings emphasized the advantage of further research and greater effort toward environmental, job related exposure, genetic and geographical factors in Isfahan Province/Iran. Expression of truncated HER2 and its prognostic value in HER2-positive breast cancer patients
Conclusion Expression of p95-HER2 in HER2-positive BC patients is significantly associated with negative hormonal receptors expression, high Ki-67 expression, presence of visceral metastases and worse overall survival. A larger study is required to confirm its association with different prognostic factors and its effect on survival. (Source: Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute)

Endometrial carcinoma in a single horn of a bicornuate uterus: A case report
Publication date: Available online 17 May 2018 Source:Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute Author(s): Khaled Gaballa, Carla Cicero, Valerio Gallotta, Gianfranco Zannoni, Giovanni Scambia We discuss the diagnosis and the management of endometrial carcinoma in a single horn of bicornuate uterus in a 64-year-old woman as a case report. The case underwent laparoscopic radical hysterectomy and bilateral iliac lymphadenectomy. The gross examination of the uterus revealed a bicornuate uterus with a greater horn of 12 × 9 × 8 cm and a smaller horn of 10 × 3 cm. The cavity of the greater horn ...

Report of a unique case of myoepithelial carcinoma of left parotid gland with metachronous bilateral cavernous sinus metastasis
Publication date: Available online 23 April 2018 Source:Journal of the Egyptian National Cancer Institute Author(s): Rambha Pandey, Rituparna Biswas, Mukurdipi Ray, Prashant P. Ramteke, Ekta Dhamija, Anirban Halder Myoepithelial carcinoma (MC) is a rare, locally aggressive malignant neoplasm of the salivary glands. Only few evidences on its metastatic behavior are available in the literature. We herein present a unique case of MC of left parotid gland which metastasized to bilateral cavernous sinuses. The patient was successfully treated with palliative radiotherapy and chemotherapy. (Source: Journal of the Egyptia...

The role of intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) in the management of patients with pancreatic and periampullary cancer: A single center experience
Conclusion Application of IORT is safe and feasible. It can be applied without additional morbidities or mortalities. Although our results are satisfactory, yet they need to be applied on a larger number of patients with longer periods of follow-up to reach sound conclusions.
