No correlation between aggression and platelet 3h-paroxetine binding in obsessive-compulsive disorder patients
Different findings suggest that the serotonin (5-HT) sys-tem may be involved in both the regulation of aggres-sion and the pathophysiology of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Our study aimed to evaluate the aggres-sive features of a group of OCD patients and to explore possible correlations with a serotonergic marker, namely platelet 5-HT transporter. A systematic exploration of clinical features and treatment outcome of obsessive-compulsive-bipolar comorbidity
Notwithstanding the emerging literature on co-morbidity between obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and bipolar disorder, relatively little systematic data exists on the clinical characteristics of this interface and its treatment. The aim of the present study is to address this challenge as it appears in a setting of routine clinical practice (Source: European Neuropsychopharmacology)

HIGH FREQUENCY DEEP REPETITIVE TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (dTMS) OF MEDIAL PREFRONTAL AND ANTERIOR CINGULATE CORTICES IN PATIENTS WITH OCD: A DOUBLE-BLIND, PLACEBO CONTROLLED, PERSPECTIVE MULTI-CENTER STUDY
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a disabling disease with an annual prevalence of 1.2%. Currently approved medications only result in a reduction of symptoms for 40-60% of patients leaving most patients significantly affected. Symptom severity is correlated to the degree of hyperconnectivity in the cortico-stiriato-thalamic circuit and increased glucose metabolism in the anterior cingulate cortex during symptom provocation and at rest. Duration of untreated illness in a cross-diagnostic sample of obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder
In this study, we compared duration of untreated illness (DUI) in OCD, Panic Disorder (PD) and Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) patients and investigated its correlates, both within specific diagnosis and across the whole sample. (Source: European Neuropsychopharmacology)

Optimal treatment for ocd (oto): a randomised controlled feasibility trial comparing the clinical and cost effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy (cbt) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssri) and their combination in the management of obsessive compulsive disorder
Established treatments for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) include cognitive behavioural psychotherapy (CBT) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) medication. Combining CBT with SSRI may be superior to either monotherapy, but few studies have addressed this question in adults with OCD. (Source: European Neuropsychopharmacology)

Problematic internet use among adult japanese psychiatric patients
A large number of studies have reported the high prevalence of problematic internet use (PIU) among adolescents and students (13-50%)1, and PIU has been associated with many psychiatric symptoms2. In contrast, only a few studies have investigated its prevalence among the adult population. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no studies investigating the prevalence and comorbidity of PIU in a psychiatric population although psychiatric symptoms might either induce PIU in patients with psychiatric illnesses, or PIU might induce or aggravate psychiatric symptoms. Emotional and cognitive characteristics of misophonia
Misophonia is a complex neurobehavioral syndrome phenotypically characterized by heightened autonomic nervous system arousal and negative emotional reactivity, in response to a decreased tolerance for specific sounds1,2. Some people with Misophonia report aversive responses to certain visual and tactile stimuli. The small body of research on Misophonia suggests that individuals suffering from this condition experience extreme autonomic arousal1 when exposed to ordinary auditory stimuli. Sufferers report physical sensations, and actions such as teeth clenching and muscle tightening. (Source: European Neuropsychopharmacology)

Obsessive compulsive personality and fatigue in patients with anxiety and mood disorders
Prior analysis has demonstrated executive dysfunction as a cardinal feature of fatigue in a post myocardial infarction population [1]. Executive problems have also been demonstrated in a group of subjects with obsessive compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) [2]. Traits of OCPD are commonly associated with depression, which has fatigue as an intrinsic element; however, so far no study has investigated the possibility of a specific association between fatigue and OCPD. An examination of the relationship between weight changes and drug treatment in patients with profound, refractory obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd) treated in a specialised inpatient service
The National Inpatient Unit based at South West London and St George ’s Mental Health NHS Trust treats people with the most refractory and profoundly severe OCD Symptoms. Previous studies from this Unit noted a high number of individuals had raised blood lipids. In light of this finding, the weight of all patients was regularly monitored throughout their admission. We decided to look at any changes in weight and other factors which may influence this including medication and severity of OCD. (Source: European Neuropsychopharmacology)

Characterizing decision-making and reward processing in bipolar disorder: A cluster analysis
The presence of abnormalities in emotional decision-making and reward processing among bipolar patients (BP) has been well rehearsed. These disturbances are not limited to acute phases and are common even during remission. In recent years, the existence of discrete cognitive profiles in this psychiatric population has been replicated. However, emotional decision making and reward processing domains have barely been studied. Therefore, our aim was to explore the existence of different profiles on the aforementioned cognitive dimensions in BP. (Source: European Neuropsychopharmacology)

Efficacy, acceptability, and tolerability of antipsychotics in children and adolescents with schizophrenia: A network meta-analysis
Children and adolescents with schizophrenia are a particularly vulnerable group. Thus, we integrated all the randomized evidence from the available antipsychotics used for this subgroup by performing a network-meta-analysis and pairwise meta-analysis using a random-effects model. We searched multiple databases up to Nov 17, 2016 (final update search in PubMed: Dec 12, 2017). The primary outcome was efficacy as measured by overall change/endpoint in symptoms of schizophrenia. Secondary outcomes included positive and negative symptoms, response, dropouts, quality of life, social functioning, weight gain, sedation, prolactin,...
