CONCLUSIONS: This study showed increased prevalence of oral findings in CKD patients. It also revealed that Diabetes mellitus cannot be a contributing factor for increased prevalence of oral manifestations of CKD patients.

A split-mouth study comparing piezo electric surgery and traditional rotary burs on impacted third molars in young patients: an intraoperative and postoperative evaluation.
CONCLUSIONS: Even if the adopted clinical trial did not highlight any statistical difference the following review of literature showed an encouraging reduction in post-operative discomfort given by the piezosurgery as opposed to the traditional rotary bur surgery. The time taken to complete the operation however, was longer with piezosurgery compared to traditional burs.

Tissue level implants in healthy versus medically compromised patients. A cohort comparative study.
CONCLUSIONS: In terms of Success, Failure and Survival rates, tissue level implants placed in Healthy and in Medically compromised individuals showed no short-term (1 year) differences.

One-year clinical outcomes following non-surgical treatment of peri-implant mucositis with adjunctive diode laser application.
CONCLUSIONS: Based on the present results, the adjunct use of diode laser showed little but not statistically significant additional benefits in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis after an observation period of one year.

Correlation between Vista Cam, ICDAS-II, x-ray bitewings and cavity extent after lesion excavation: an in vivo pilot study.
CONCLUSIONS: X-rays evaluation showed diagnostic accuracy in 6% of the sample. VistaCam measurement of 1.7 was correlated to a cavity with 3.5, 2.8 and 3.2 mm of depth, width and length.

Simultaneous photoablative and photodynamic 810-nm diode laser therapy as an adjunct to non-surgical periodontal treatment: an in-vitro study.
CONCLUSIONS: Our preliminary in-vitro data suggest that simultaneous photoablative-photodynamic irradiation could be a promising therapy against a wide range of bacteria involved in periodontal disease. We believe that further additional in-vivo investigation is necessary, to enable a more complete picture of effectiveness within a clinical setting to be established. In addition, the use of a simultaneous photoablative-photodynamic therapy is suggested to reduce treatment time, without compromising the efficacy against the periodontal pathogens.

Clinical osseointegration of bone level implants with conical shape and textured surface with low primary stability.
CONCLUSIONS: It can be concluded that bone-level implants with V-Blast surface in absence of functional loading are able to achieve osteointegration, even with low primary stability.

Reosseointegration after the surgical treatment of induced peri-implantitis: systematic review on current evidence and translation from the animal to the human model.
CONCLUSIONS: Animal studies of induced peri-implantitis seem to indicate that rough surfaces can enhance reosseointegration as compared to smooth surfaces. With regard to bone regeneration techniques and materials, submerged healing and barrier membranes have shown a positive effect on reosseointegration. No evidence exists, however, about the specific role of different bone substitutes and their ability to improve bone formation. CONCLUSIONS: FEM analysis contributes substantially to the development of new technologies and new materials in the biomedical field, being able to perform a large number of simulations without the need for patients or to perform human tests. Expression of mast cell in aggressive periodontitis.
CONCLUSIONS: In general, the results of the study showed that the percentage of mast cells in the aggressive periodontitis group was more than two times higher than that of the healthy group, which is indicative of an increase in the number of mast cells in aggressive periodontitis disease.

A retrospective pilot study of correlation of first maxillary premolar root trunk length with age and gender. A cone beam computed tomography study.
CONCLUSIONS: A correlation between the age and the RTL and RL has been found but only in left premolars. Sex seemed to have only a slight correlation on the frequency of single-rooted teeth of the right side of the mouth. Further studies should be addressed to clarify the significance of the asymmetries observed in the present study between the two sides of the mouth with the aim of deepening the knowledge and understanding of the different variables that could be correlated with the RTL.
