In-vitro evaluation of coronal microbial leakage after post space tooth preparation.
CONCLUSIONS: The minimum time required for microorganisms to enter the canal in group with and without dressing was 28 and 7 days respectively. It is suggested that the teeth with post space preparation receive permanent restoration after RCT in the shortest possible time, to reduce the need for retreatment. Effect of rapid palatal expansion in early tratment and spontaneous correction of maxillary canine-first premolar transposition.
CONCLUSIONS: Transpositions of the maxillary canines and first premolar is a common tooth malposition in children. Early diagnosis will permit to perform an interceptive treatment that will prevent the full development of transposition. PMID: 27075370 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

Mast cells and its relation to collagen and VEGF in oral inflammatory lesions.
CONCLUSIONS: The involvement of MCs in the pathogenesis of the oral inflammatory lesions is suggested. However, there was no positive correlation with these cells and collagen fibers or angiogenesis in the lesions studied. PMID: 27075371 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

Retrospective analysis of the prevalence of peri-implant diseases in non-smoking patients rehabilitated with a fixed full-arch restoration, supported by two mesial axial and two distal tilted implants.
CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis was lower than in most of the studies in literature suggesting the feasibility of this kind of rehabilitation, in combination with a strict hygiene recall protocol, in preventing the onset of these diseases. Periodontal biotype: characteristic, prevalence and dimensions related to dental malocclusion.
CONCLUSIONS: No relationship was found between gingival biotypes and Angle's classification of malocclusion. In this sample, a higher prevalence of thick gingival biotype especially among female subjects was observed. PMID: 27035270 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

The influence of concentration of HEMA on degree of conversion and cytotoxicity of a dental bonding resin.
CONCLUSIONS: Higher amount of HEMA in the DBR resulted in adverse effects, with more cell toxicity and lower degree of conversion. PMID: 27009411 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

Comparison of the palatal expansion obtained via the use of the rapid maxillary expander compared with surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion.
CONCLUSIONS: Rapid maxillary expander and surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion SARME can be used for the resolution of malocclusions characterized by a transverse maxillary hypoplasia. The choice between RME and SARME is linked to the age of the patient, and the biological stage of the maxillary suture. PMID: 27009412 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

Headache and temporo mandibular disorders: epidemiological assessment.
CONCLUSIONS: These findings confirm the existence of a relationship between headache and TMDs, showing that a dysfunctional patient has a greater predisposition to headache than a non-dysfunctional subject. PMID: 27009413 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

Crestal sinus lift by using a mini-invasive procedure: a case series.
CONCLUSIONS: SinCrest® is a valid alternative to other mini-invasive procedures for sinus lift in cases with a residual height bone of at least 5 mm, allowing an atraumatic, safe and controlled operation. PMID: 27009414 [PubMed - in process] (Source: Minerva Stomatologica)

Correlation between skeletal Class II and temporo-mandibular joint disorders: a literature review.
CONCLUSIONS: It is therefore impossible to make any forecast of proper development of TMD on the basis of the presence or absence of a malocclusion although in some studies the class II malocclusion has been associated with a higher prevalence of muscle strains problems. So, while there is a clear lack of association with strictly joint issues (click, lock joint, dislocations) in the literature class II malocclusion can be related only to muscular problems.
