Uterine fluid lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme activity profile: can it be considered a diagnostic marker for endometrial cancer?
Conclusion: LD isoenzyme profile of uterine fluid could be added as a diagnostic tool for endometrial carcinoma of postmenopausal women. It is a reliable and easy, and is highly tolerable for the patients. At the same time, it can be applied as an office technique. LD isoenzyme profile of uterine fluid could be used as a second step after TVS at a cutoff point of 5 mm, which has proved to be highly reliable. The use of these two methods can reduce the need for curettage and hysteroscopy. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Induction of labor in patients with previous cesarean section using two different forms of vaginal dinoprostone
Conclusion: The two forms of dinoprostone vaginal tablets had comparable efficacy and safety profile when used for IOL in women who had undergone a previous CS. A larger, multicenter, randomized, controlled study is recommended. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Will intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection replace intracytoplasmic sperm injection in cases of severe oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia?: a prospective study
Objective: The aim of the study was to compare between intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI) and conventional intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) as regards laboratory and clinical outcomes in couples with severe oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia (OAT). Design: This was a prospective, nonrandomized, controlled clinical trial. Setting: The study was conducted in the Agial ICSI/IVF Center. Materials and methods: A total of 1729 couples with severe OAT were enrolled: 1356 couples were submitted to routine ICSI (group I) and 373 couples were submitted to IMSI (group II) after they had been counse...

Additive value of three-dimensional power Doppler in differentiation between uterine myomas and localized adenomyomas
This study was conducted on 60 patients between 20 and 60 years of age, who were previously diagnosed on 2D ultrasonography as having adenomyosis and/or leiomyoma. 3D power Doppler ultrasound was performed before surgery (myomectomy or hysterectomy). The examination evaluated vascular location (location), vascular index, flow index, and vascular-flow index. Postoperative histopathological examination was carried out to confirm the diagnosis. Results: Patients with uterine leiomyoma had significantly higher vascular index (P=0.005), flow index (P (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Postoperative analgesia needed after cesarean section delivery with and without local anesthetic wound infiltration
Conclusion: This study concluded that infiltration of the surgical wound of a cesarean section with 0.5% bupivacaine after general anesthesia provided a significant degree of analgesia as shown by the smaller amount of pethidine or NSAID (diclofenac Na) consumption and earlier onset of lactation. Tamoxifen versus letrozole in combination with clomiphene citrate to stimulate ovulation in clomiphene-resistant PCOS women
Conclusion: Letrozole successfully induced dose-dependent ovulation and pregnancy rate per cycle and per patient. Tamoxifen also successfully induced ovulation and pregnancy rates with a frequency significantly higher than that of letrozole at 5 mg/day and nonsignificantly lower than that of letrozole at 7.5 mg/day. Combination of CC with either tamoxifen or letrozole at a dose of 7.5 mg/day is equally effective and could be prescribed according to the patient’s condition and physician’s preference. In this study 45 women diagnosed with stage I endometrial carcinoma were categorized into three groups: group I, group II, and group III. In group I, 15 patients were injected with 1% methylene blue into the subserosal myometrium at eight injection sites: the most superior portion of the anterior midline and posterior midline of the fundus, the anterior and posterior midpart of the uterus, the anterior and posterior lower part of the uterus, and lastly at both corneal ends. In group II, 15 patients were injected with 1% methylene blue into the cervicosubserosal myometrium at four injection sites: in 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clo...
