Efficacy and safety of chlorhexidine versus povidone-iodine skin antisepsis in reducing surgical site infection in cesarean sections: a randomized, controlled clinical trial

Conclusion: Chlorhexidine-based antisepsis used as preoperative skin preparation for patients undergoing cesarean deliveries is more effective in reducing the incidence of SSI in comparison with povidone-iodine with comparable safety.
