Microalbuminuria during midpregnancy in the prediction of preeclampsia

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate microalbuminuria during midpregnancy as a predictor of preeclampsia. Setting: The study was conducted in Kasr El Aini Hospital. Design: This was a cohort study. Participants and methods: A total of 216 women were recruited, of whom 50 pregnant woman were found to have microalbuminuria. All women were followed up until delivery. The primary outcome measure was development of preeclampsia during the antenatal period and/or at the time of delivery.
