Potential therapeutic effect of amniotic stem cell transplantation on ovarian function and folliculogenesis in rats with induced ovarian failure
Conclusion: The current study proved that administration of either hAM-MSCs or AD-MSCs exerts a therapeutic effect on the chemotherapy-induced ovarian insult in rats, improving both hormonal and reproductive functions of the ovary, with higher efficacy of hAM-MSCs in that field. Inositol versus Metformin administration in polycystic ovary syndrome patients: a case–control study
Conclusion: Myo-inositol+D-chiro-inositol showed significantly better results in terms of weight reduction, resumption of spontaneous ovulation, and spontaneous pregnancy than Metformin in polycystic ovary syndrome patients. However, the effects of both drugs were comparable in decreasing either AMH or HOMA-IR. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

A pilot study to examine the effects of acute aerobic exercise on transdermally delivered ethinyl estradiol in young women
Conclusion: These outcomes demonstrate that 30 min of moderate-intensity exercise in a thermoneutral environment did not exacerbate EE parameters in premenopausal women. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Screening for Chlamydia trachomatis in women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage: a prospective cohort study
Conclusion: Frequency of chlamydial infection in Egyptian women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage is relatively low. In the setting of recurrent miscarriage investigations, screening for C. trachomatis among Egyptian women is not justified. ELISA offers a simple and cheap screening test as an alternative to the PCR method. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Efficacy of the pubovaginal rectus fascia sling in the management of female patients suffering from complex intrinsic sphincteric deficiency (type III stress urinary incontinence)
Conclusion: Natural slings derived from the patient are superior to synthetic slings in pubovaginal sling surgery, despite synthetic slings having comparable success rates. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Combined transvaginal sonography and diagnostic hysteroscopy in the assessment of tubal patency in infertile women in correlation to laparoscopic chromopertubation
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the diagnostic value of transvaginal sonography (TVS) performed after office hysteroscopy, for assessing tubal patency in subfertile women, and to compare the findings with those obtained with laparoscopic chromopertubation. Study design: This was a cross-sectional study. Patients and methods: TVS was first performed for 60 subfertile women to exclude the presence of free fluid in the pouch of Douglas. Office hysteroscopy was then performed in the outpatient clinic with saline distension medium using 80–100 mmHg pressure, followed by TVS again within 20 min to detect th...

Comparison between 2D sonohysterography, 3D sonohysterography, and diagnostic hysteroscopy for assessment of intrauterine lesions in premenopausal bleeding patients and their correlation with the histopathology
Conclusion: 2D and 3D sonohysterography can accurately diagnose and localize intracavitary lesions almost as accurately as hysteroscopy. 3D-SIS is comparable to hysteroscopy in classifying fibroids according to their degree of protrusion into the uterine cavity and can assess feasibility for hysteroscopic resection, with the advantage of visualizing the intramyometrial portion and identifying associated pathologies. Their accuracy in estimating the protrusion index of fibroids declines as the intramural component increases. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Could misoprostol improve intestinal motility in women who had cesarean section?
Aim: We assessed whether there is an effect of rectal misoprostol (a prostaglandin E1 analogue) on intestinal motility in women who had cesarean sections. Patients and methods: A total of 120 women who had an elective cesarean section under spinal anesthetic were recruited for a randomized controlled trial. They were randomized into three groups: group A, who did not take misoprostol; group B, who took 200 μg misoprostol; and group C, who took 400 μg misoprostol. We compared the three groups with respect to time to pass flatus, time till the bowel sounds were heard, time to start regular diet, and side effects of misopro...

Can Visual Inspection after Acetic acid replace Papanicolaou smear
Conclusion: NEAT may serve as an adjunct to routine Pap smear to pick up additional 50% of premalignant lesions. It is not capable of replacing Pap smear because of its low specificity. The high false-positive rate of the acetic acid test may be due to the large number of unhealthy cervices (57.6%). (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

The effect of percentage of immature oocytes at the time of oocyte retrieval on intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcomes
Conclusion: Our data demonstrated that the percentage of immature oocytes may be useful in the prognosis of ICSI outcome. If the percentage of immature oocytes is higher than 50%, the fertilization was significantly lower. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Could diabetes mellitus affect female sexual function: a comparative study
Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the sexual functions among married female diabetic patients using a modified Arabic translated version of the female sexual function index (FSFI). Patients and methods: A total of 247 diabetic patients (the diabetic group) were compared with 100 nondiabetic women with respect to their sexual function. The FSFI questionnaire was administered on both groups. Blood glucose testing (fasting, 2-h postprandial, and glycosylated hemoglobin) was carried out for the diabetic patients. Results: There was a statistically significant decrease in the desire and excitement domains in diabet...
