Voiding disorders in elderly Egyptian women
Conclusion: Voiding dysfunctions are common in elderly women, even in those who are asymptomatic. DO was the most common dysfunction, and 38.4% of patients had more than one urodynamic abnormality. There was an association between DO and urge incontinence and between stress incontinence and urethral incompetence, but not between other symptoms and urodynamic abnormalities. Effect of hCG-day estradiol and progesterone on intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcome
Conclusion: hCG-day progesterone was significantly higher in the nonpregnant group and was detrimental on the number of MII oocytes and on clinical pregnancy. Estradiol showed an insignificant correlation with both MII and clinical pregnancy. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection following hysteroscopic adhesiolysis in patients with moderate intrauterine adhesions
Conclusion: Hysteroscopic adhesiolysis in patients with moderate Asherman’s syndrome before ICSI restores the anatomy of the uterine cavity and the menstrual blood flow and optimizes the patients’ chances during ICSI, compared with patients with normal uterine cavities; however, their clinical pregnancy rates after correction may be significantly lower. Early induction of labour versus delayed induction following prelabour rupture of fetal membranes at term
Conclusion: Immediate induction of labour for women with term PROM has relatively better maternal and neonatal outcome compared with delayed induction after 24 h of conservative management. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Double balloon silicon catheter versus misoprostol vaginal insert for preinduction cervical ripening: a randomized controlled trial
Conclusion: Both methods showed comparable results regarding safety and mode of delivery. While the double balloon catheter was associated with longer induction to delivery interval among primiparous women, it was associated with a lower rate of intrapartum fetal distress. However, there was no difference between the two groups regarding 5-min Apgar scores. Thus, because of its high cost, it is difficult to adopt the double balloon catheter for preinduction cervical ripening at our institution. A study on women’s healthcare practice in urban slums: Indian scenario
Conclusion: We suspect that there is an untapped demand for clean, habitable, and decent living conditions among the slum dwellers that can positively impact women’s health. Mentally and physically challenged girls are the worst victims of our social system; thus, their condition is miserable in the surroundings they live. Therefore, girls in slums need the urgent attention of their pathfinder. (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

Undisturbed tubal ectopic pregnancy: conservative laparoscopy or methotrexate?
This study compared systemic methotrexate and laparoscopic salpingotomy in the treatment of undisturbed tubal ectopic pregnancy. Outcome measures were treatment success, tubal preservation, homolateral tubal patency, and fertility potential after each treatment protocol. Design: This study was designed as a prospective randomized clinical trial. Patients and methods: Between January 2010 and November 2011, hemodynamically stable patients with undisturbed tubal pregnancy were randomly assigned systemic methotrexate (1.0 mg/kg dose of intramuscular methotrexate) or laparoscopic salpingotomy. Treatment success was defined as ...

Use of tramadol hydrochloride versus escitalopram tablets in the treatment of premature ejaculation
ConclusionAlthough use of 50 mg tramadol is more effective than continuous use of escitalopram at a fixed dose of 10 mg/day in delaying ejaculation and prolonging IVELT of premature ejaculation patients, but we do not recommend its use because of possibility of addiction, dependence, and abuse by patients. Impact of abnormally increased nuchal translucency on pregnancy outcome
ObjectiveThe aim of the study was to investigate the sole impact of increased nuchal translucency on pregnancy outcome. Patients and MethodsThree hundred pregnant women (gestational age between 11 and 13.6 weeks) were subdivided into two groups according to the presence or absence of nuchal translucency greater than or equal to 2.8 mm. Group I included 273 patients with normal nuchal translucency ( (Source: Journal of Evidence-Based Women’s Health Journal Society)

The value of middle cerebral artery and umbilical artery Doppler indices in assessment of fetal well-being and prediction of neonatal outcome in IUGR and preeclampsia
ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to assess the accuracy of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) and umbilical artery (UA) Doppler indices in predicting fetal outcome in pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia and/or intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR). Study designIt was a prospective study. Patients and methodsOne hundred and twenty-one pregnant women were categorized into four groups: group A, preeclampsia without IUGR group (38 cases); group B, IUGR without preeclampsia group (24 cases); group C, preeclampsia complicated with IUGR group (19 cases); and group D, the control group (40 cases). The perinatal outcomes c...

Accuracy of fetal transcerebellar diameter nomogram in the prediction of gestational age in singleton gestation at the second and the third trimesters of singleton pregnancy
ConclusionThe TCD measurement appears to be an accurate predictor of gestational age, even in the third trimester of pregnancy. It is recommended to use TCD as an important ultrasound biometric parameter in normal singleton for the prediction of gestational age.
