Adenomatoid Tumor of the Small Intestine: The First Case Report and Review of the Literature
The case represents the first literature report of an adenomatoid tumor that arises primarily in the small intestine of a 44-year-old woman, who presented with intermittent upper abdominal pain accompanied by nausea and vomiting. The resected tumor was grossly unencapsulated and had a gray-tan color on its cut surface. Microscopically, it consisted of variably sized tubules and glandular spaces which involved the whole layers of the intestine. The mesothelial nature of the lesion was subsequently verified by the immunopositivity for pancytokeratin (AE1/AE3), HBME-1, calretinin, D2-40, and WT1 with cells lining the tubules ...

Primary Adrenal Leiomyosarcoma: Case Report and Review of the Literature
We report a primary adrenal leiomyosarcoma in a 57-year-old woman who was incidentally found to have an adrenal-occupying lesion during a routine medical examination. Computed tomography revealed a 64 mm x 77 mm soft tissue mass in the left adrenal gland. The patient underwent left radical nephroadrenalectomy. Histological examination of the tumor showed malignant spindle cells in interlacing fasicles and whorls. Nuclear pleomorphism, tumor giant cells, necrosis, and abnormal mitotic figures were present. On immunohistochemistry, the tumor cells were strongly positive for smooth muscle actin, desmin, and vimentin expressio...

Epstein-Barr Virus-Associated Adrenal Smooth Muscle Tumors and Disseminated Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in a Child With Common Variable Immunodeficiency: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
This article reports the clinical and the histological features in a 7-year-old girl affected by common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) who developed multiple Epstein–Barr virus–associated tumors, represented by bilateral adrenal smooth muscle tumors (EBV-SMT) and multifocal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The EBV-SMTs showed features compatible with a benign or at least a low-malignant potential neoplasm. A peculiar feature observed in both EBV-SMTs was the occurrence of numerous lymphocytes intermingled with the spindle cells, which consisted of CD3+ CD5+ T-cells, with a predominant cytotoxic CD8+ component. ...
