Anti ‐inflammatory effect of 4‐methylcyclopentadecanone in rats submitted to ischemic stroke
This study aimed to investigate the anti‐inflammatory effect of 4‐methylcyclopentadecanone (4‐MCPC) in rats suffering from a cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. In this study, the focal cerebral ischemia in rats was induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) for 2 h, and the rats were treated with 4‐MCPC (8 mg/kg) just 0.5 h before reperfusion. The ischemic infarct volume was recorded 24 h after the MCAO. In addition, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity and TNF‐α and IL‐1β levels in the ischemic cerebral cortex were determined by ELISA, while nuclear translocation of NF‐κB p65 subunit and ex...

mRNA expression of drug metabolism enzymes and transporter genes at birth using human umbilical cord blood
This study aimed to characterize mRNA expression of the main drug metabolizing enzymes and transport proteins involved in drug disposition, using umbilical cord blood (UCB), according to gender, gestational age and genetic background. A large panel of genes was quantified: cytochrome P450 system (n=12), UGT family (n=6), TPMT and transporters (n=3), in 56 samples of UCB of twin neonates. Gene expression was measured using real‐time reverse‐transcription polymerase chain reaction with 18S rRNA as the endogenous control for normalization of data. Relative expression of the samples was expressed using the 2‐ΔΔCt metho...

Imoxin attenuates high fructose induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in renal epithelial cell via downregulation of PKR Pathway
In conclusion our study demonstrates PKR induces oxidative stress and apoptosis, a significant contributor involved in vascular complications and a possible mediator of HF induced hypertension. Inhibition of PKR pathway can be used as a therapeutic strategy for the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Comparison of adherence to generic multi ‐tablet regimens versus brand multi‐tablet and brand single‐tablet regimens likely to incorporate generic antiretroviral drugs by breaking or not fixed‐dose combinations in HIV‐infected patients
In conclusion, adherence to generic MTR was high and comparable with adherence to brand MTR and to STR. Utilization of DDD instead DNT to measure the MPR led to small but non‐significant difference that has no clinical impact. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
