Pulmonary vein isolation with  concomitant renal artery denervation is associated with reduction of both arterial blood pressure and atrial fibrillation burden: data from implantable cardiac monitor
ConclusionsRDN when added to PVI decreases AF recurrences, AF burden and mean BP. Reduction of mean BP is associated with both AF burden and recurrences. Further large‐scale studies are needed to define the mechanistic pathway(s) of the antiarrhythmic effects of RDN.This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Comparisons of cardioprotective efficacy between fibroblast growth factor 21 and dipeptidyl peptidase ‐4 inhibitor in pre‐diabetic rats
ConclusionsFGF21 exerts better metabolic regulation and inflammation reduction than vildagliptin. However, FGF21 and vildagliptin shared a similar efficacy for cardioprotection by improving HRV and LV function. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Effects of clopidogrel on inflammatory cytokines and adhesion molecules in human endothelial cells. Role of nitric oxide mediating pleiotropic effects
Conclusionsresults support new evidence for pleiotropic effects of clopidogrel on inflammation and endothelial function. Reduction of ICAM‐1 and MCP‐1 in human endothelium is an important extent of the use of this drug for treatment of cardiovascular diseases and NO has an important role in this process. This article is protected by copyright. Inhibitors of soluble epoxide hydrolase minimize ischemia ‐reperfusion induced cardiac damage in normal, hypertensive and diabetic rats
ConclusionsProphylactic treatment with sEH inhibitors decreased myocardial damage due to IR, hypertension and diabetes, and decreased endothelial dysfunction created by diabetes and hypertension. Therefore, inhibitors of sEH are useful probes to study cardiovascular pathology and inhibition of the sEH is a potential approach in the management of IR‐induced cardiac damage and endothelial dysfunction related cardiovascular disorders. This article is protected by copyright. Epac ‐Rap1‐activated mesenchymal stem cells improve cardiac function in rat model of myocardial infarction
ConclusionOur findings showed that pharmacological activation of Epac‐Rap1 improves cardiac function through better survival, adhesion and differentiation of transplanted cells. Transplantation of these MSCs in the infarct area restored functional myocardium. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)

Comparison of early ‐ and new‐generation drug‐eluting stent implantations for ostial right coronary artery lesions
ConclusionsThe implantation of nDES for ostial RCA lesions significantly reduced the MACE rate compared with early‐generation DES, mainly driven by a reduction in the TLR rate. However, nDES implantations for ostial RCA lesions may still be challenging in patients with severe CKD. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)
