Onset ‐to‐device time of patients who arrive at off‐hours: Importance of prehospital management and public awareness for patients with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction
ConclusionsThe OTD time might be markedly longer in STEMI patients who arrive at the hospital during on‐hours than in those who arrive at the hospital during off‐hours because of the underuse of emergency medical services at STEMI onset. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)

Preprocedural but not periprocedural high ‐sensitive Troponin T levels predict outcome in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation
ConclusionElevated preprocedural hsTNT represents an independent risk predictor of all‐cause death while periprocedural hsTNT elevation failed to show prognostic relevance. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)

Salidroside Protects against Homocysteine ‐induced Injury in HUVECs via The Regulation of Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress
ConclusionsTaken together, these findings implicate that SAL could regulate ER‐stress pathway on the viability of endotheliocyte induced by Hcy in vitro. Our findings provide the first evidence that SAL plays an important role in endotheliocyte protection via suppressing ER‐stress pathway in HUVEC cells, and that it may be a promising therapeutic target for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. This article is protected by copyright. A U ‐Shaped Association of Body Mass Index (BMI) and All‐cause Mortality in Heart Failure Patients: A Dose‐response Meta‐analysis of Prospective Cohort Studies
ConclusionHF patients with higher BMI (>28kg/m2) have a better survival, whereas underweight and those with severe obesity (e.g. BMI >37 kg/m2) have a higher mortality. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)

Adenosine triphosphate postconditioning is associated with better preserved global and regional cardiac function during myocardial ischemia and reperfusion: a speckle tracking imaging ‐based echocardiologic study
ConclusionsIPostC and ATP‐PPostC may exert cardioprotective functions by better preservation of cardiac function during the I/R process and at least partly via attenuation of myocardial apoptosis. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)

Impact of stent diameter and length on in ‐stent restenosis after DES vs BMS implantation in patients needing large coronary stents – a clinical and health‐economic evaluation
ConclusionIn the BASKET‐PROVE study population, the strongest predictor of ISR is the use of a BMS, even in patients in need of stents ≥3.0mm and ≤15mm lesion length and DES were cost‐effective. This should prompt the NICE to reevaluate its recommendation to use DES instead of BMS only in vessels <3.0mm and lesions >15mm length. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Cytochrome P450 2C9 gene polymorphism and warfarin maintenance dosage in pediatric patients: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis
ConclusionsWe found that CYP2C9 gene polymorphism(referring to the presence of *1/*2, *1/*3, and variant genotypes in the population in addition to the wild type) was significantly associated with decreased warfarin maintenance dose requirements. Additionally, a specific indication for warfarin, the Fontan procedure, was associated with a lower daily warfarin dose. However, the results of our study require confirmation from more research with larger numbers of pediatric patients. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Colchicine for prevention and treatment of cardiac diseases: a meta ‐analysis
ConclusionColchicine appears to be efficacious and well tolerated for recurrent pericarditis/post‐pericardiotomy syndrome and recurrence of post procedural atrial fibrillation. However, its efficacy may be limited by its gastrointestinal adverse events and treatment discontinuation rates particularly in post‐operative patients. This article is protected by copyright. Warfarin persistence among atrial fibrillation patients – why is treatment ended?
ConclusionsAlthough persistence to warfarin among AF patients proves higher than previously reported, there is room for improvement since half of the discontinuers have questionable reasons for treatment stop and the majority of them receive no other efficient stroke prophylaxis. This article is protected by copyright.
