Effects of conjugated linoleic acid supplementation on serum C ‐reactive protein: A Systematic Review and meta‐analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
ConclusionsThis meta‐analysis suggests that CLA supplementation is associated with an increase in plasma CRP concentrations and a reduction in serum adiponectin concentrations, which indicates that CLA supplements have a pro‐inflammatory effect. Randomized control trials with la arger sample size and a longer follow‐up period may be required for future investigations to provide an unequivocal answer. This article is protected by copyright. Endothelial damage effects of circulating microparticles from patients with stable angina is reduced by aspirin though ERK/p38 MAPKs pathways
ConclusionThese results indicate that the pro‐inflammatory, oxidative stress, procoagulant, and adhesion properties of MPs can be partly blocked by aspirin via the ERK‐NO/O2‐ and p38 ‐NF‐κB‐VCAM‐1signalpathway, which clarified other functions beyond anti‐atherothrombotic of aspirin. This article is protected by copyright. Inhibitors of soluble epoxide hydrolase minimize ischemia ‐reperfusion‐induced cardiac damage in normal, hypertensive, and diabetic rats
ConclusionsProphylactic treatment with sEH inhibitors decreased myocardial damage due to IR, hypertension and diabetes, and decreased endothelial dysfunction created by diabetes and hypertension. Therefore, inhibitors of sEH are useful probes to study cardiovascular pathology, and inhibition of the sEH is a potential approach in the management of IR‐induced cardiac damage and endothelial dysfunction‐related cardiovascular disorders. Prevalence of in ‐hospital nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug exposure in patients with a primary diagnosis of heart failure
ConclusionExposure to NSAID in patients admitted with a primary diagnosis of heart failure was low but was associated with adverse outcomes including longer length of stay and higher prevalence or worsening renal function. (Source: Cardiovascular Therapeutics)
