Fish With Loaves…
Charlie was a bundle of nervous agitation and energy this afternoon. Between Horsefly and work, it can really grind and pound Charlie into the ground, and now he has to contend with me and my needs for another week. “It is not you,” Charlie told me, knowing how sensitive I am, but he didn’t elaborate for that matter either. Charlie and I fed and watered Maggie as she looked on with approval. We then took my medications. Charlie was trying to convince me this afternoon that I am 100 percent better on them. “I can’t see the difference,” I told Charlie. “You are like a different person!” he exclaimed sincerel...

Life Helps Us to Write…
The day is beginning to start which leaves me with little to write about until things get busier around here. I cooked Maggie and I a full blown Southern breakfast this morning and then she went back to bed a happy dog. I almost joined her, but I came to my senses and decided I wanted to sleep tonight so I better stay up. San Diego Bound… My parents left for San Diego from Atlanta at four this morning, They will be gone for eight days. I’m in Charlie’s able hands until their return. Helen is working the whole time my parent’s are gone. My father arranged things to were Helen helps me out at mealtimes – chicken, ...

Helen Brings Home the Bacon…
Helen has just left my house after visiting for awhile. It was so good to see her as I welcomed her inside. She was also in an uncommonly jovial mood. She handed me a sack of six cold Coco-Colas, some smokes, and a large Tupperware container of her delicious chicken salad. Now, all I need is some Waverly crackers to eat the chicken salad with and then I will be set for the rest of the evening. I might just pick up a pint of vanilla bean ice-cream as well. Charlie will be here tonight to administer my medications so the fun isn’t quite over yet.. He usually brings some treats that pleases Maggie and I both. Lately, Charl...

Intimacy on a Dog’s Level…
I was sitting on the floor in the den last night putting my motherboard in its case after installing the memory, processor and heat-sink. I bet I had screwed a hundred screws up to this point it seemed. The installation of my numerous case fans were unwieldy to say the least. Maggie, Santa’s little helper, was just fascinated as to what I was doing. She would have to sniff each part as they came out of the box. It was also a novelty to Maggie that I was sitting on the floor – on her level. She takes this as a sign of intimacy – boundaries need not apply. Soon, there was a loud knock on my door and it was Charlie and...

Santa’s Sidekicks…
Well, my dearest Charlie and my most venerated father played Santa’s sidekicks last night.  It was getting late, close to midnight, and I was beginning to think they had forgotten about me. Maggie and I were on the couch impatiently looking out the window for their arrival. Maggie portrayed her best version of pomp and circumstance in ceremonial fashion at the arrival of Charlie’s car. Charlie bought me the most wonderfully warm suede leather jacket and a long sleeve shirt that almost felt like it was made of silk. I told Charlie that the shirt was going to be my new sleeping gear it was so comfortably soft. My c...

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas…
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the houseNot a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds,While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.Away to the window I flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snowGave the lus...

mxtodis123 said... Hi Andrew. I wanted to ask you what is a good free online antivirus to tide me over until I can get a new computer. My computer has been its way out for months now, and we have only been waiting for my hubby's social security to kick in to get a new one, but we haven't gotten a penny yet.Well, yesterday I turned my computer on and it seemed to be taking its usual slow self to come on. Then a black screen came up saying that there was either a power outage, a wrong button pushed, or they gave a third item which I have forgotten. I was told to go to highlight a certain button and when I did, it appeared...

The Desolation of Smaug…
Today is going to be a very busy and interesting day for this decrepitly old and moldy Andrew.  Mom and I leave at 11 a.m. to go see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.  Next, we are going to eat at Chik-Fil-A. (I can already taste those two chicken sandwiches I always get). Then mom and I are going to the bookstore.  I have a $40 gift card to Books-A-Million to spend and I am sure my mother has a few books in mind as well. Our journey culminates in a trip to Sonic for dessert. I will be headed back home up the interstate as I drink my $4 dollar large liquid gold chocolate shake. “Now, don’t back out o...

Anonymous said... Andrew I have a question about the Microsoft. I went to download it and my laptop(which runs window 8) says I already have it but I will be damned if I can find it. And when I try to search for it the computer can't find it..any ideas Andrew Replies… In Windows 8 it is called Windows Defender.  You might try searching for that.  I just searched for Windows Defender in Windows 8 and it pulled it right up. Microsoft never seems to make things easy do they? Windows 8 is rather convoluted in my opinion. (Source: The 4th Avenue Blues)

A Movie on an Iceberg…
The movie, The Desolation of Smaug, was super awesomely great for a Tolkien fan, but the theater was so simply frigidly cold I could barely stand it.  Mom and I were the only two people in the auditorium for the movie.  My total pussy ass social anxiety crap prevented me from going to ask the management to turn the heat up some. So I just had to wallow in my own misery – my own cold prison of sorts. The traffic in Auburn was like gangbusters as we left the theater. A madhouse and total bedlam. I was having trouble getting in and out of traffic and merging.  Mom and I both agreed to drive back to the Valley...

♫ It Was a Dark and Stormy Night ♫
♫ ♫ Everybody was at the Wing Ding, but they weren’t the Wing Ding type. ♫ ♫ Seven AM has arrived in short order and daylight will be along shortly as well.  Big storms with copious amounts of rain and vibrant lightning are west of us and heading east. I was up half the night moving my computer back into the much more aptly named computer room in my house. Now, I can be nosey and watch what my neighbors are up to as I will be facing a window from where I sit at my computer. The drawback to such a location? Cold air pours off those windows in that room making for some chilly feet. Others Can Be Nosey as Wel...

Let Them Eat Sausage Biscuits…
Earlier, I was laying in the bed daydreaming as Maggie licked her paws compulsively at my side.  There was a rapaciously loud knock on the door. Keep in mind that we are in the middle of a deluge. Rain was pouring down by the bucket loads with occasional bouts of lightning and thunder. “Merry Christmas!” Charlie said as Maggie barked jubilantly. I couldn’t fathom Charlie carrying out our usual Sunday breakfast ritual in inclement weather such as this.  I was extremely pleased to get it, though, thanking Charlie profusely. Giddy With Glee…
It is almost here. Another fabulous Christmas that is. I hope I get to open my presents on Christmas Eve. The tension and anticipation is almost palpable. I am sure I will be up until early Christmas morning putting together my new Blogging and writing computer. The specifications are quite impressive, but I won’t bore you with that. The weakest link to this new computer is having to use Intel’s integrated graphics to cut costs. I doubt I will be playing any games on the computer anyway.  We’re going to give it a trial by fire so to speak. (Source: The 4th Avenue Blues)
