The regulatory role of the oral commensal Streptococcus mitis on human monocytes
In conclusion, our findings show that S. mitis may trigger immune modulation by recruiting immune cells to the site of infection, while at the same time dampening the severity of the response through expression of IL‐10, PGE2 and PD‐L1. MUC1 ‐ and survivin‐based DNA vaccine combining immunoadjuvants CpG and interleukin 2 in a bicistronic expression plasmid generates specific immune responses and anti‐tumor effects in a murine colorectal carcinoma model
In conclusion, the DNA vaccine containing a CpG motif in bicistronic form showed good effects on colorectal cancer by inhibiting both tumor growth and metastasis, and combination with oxaliplatin could improve its anti‐tumor effects. Phenotypic Prenatal Diagnosis of Chronic Granulomatous Disease: A Useful Tool in The Absence Of Molecular Diagnosis
Abstract Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) is an inherited immunodeficiency disorder affecting the microbicidal function of the phagocytes. It is characterized by susceptibility to recurrent infections leading to significant morbidity and mortality. Antibacterial and antifungal prophylaxis, though, has significantly reduced the rate and severity of the infections; the breakthrough infections still remain a challenge. Currently, allogenic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only curative option which is very expensive and unavailable for many due to lack of suitable donor. Thus, prenatal diagnosis (PND) forms ...

IL ‐23 actived γδ T cells affect Th17 cells and regulatory T cells by secreting IL‐21 in children with primary nephrotic syndrome
Conclusionγδ T cells, IL‐17+γδ T cells, and IL‐23R+γδ T cells may be involved in the pathogenesis of pediatric PNS by modulating the balance of Th17/Treg cells. γδT cells may cause an imbalance in Th17/Treg cells by secreting IL‐21 in the presence of IL‐23.This article is protected by copyright.
