Copper(II) polymer complexes of 3 ‐allyl‐5‐(4‐nitrophenylazo)‐2‐thioxothiazolidine‐4‐one were synthesized. The copper ion is coordinated through the oxygen atom of carbonyl group and nitrogen atom of hydrazone group. From histograms of the representative Pascal constants and thermal activation energy of decomposition (Ea) employing the Coats –Redfern (a) and Horowitz–Metzger (b) methods, it is observed thatEa values of the polymer complexes decrease in the order2>1>3 (NO3−>Cl−>CH3COO−). A series of copper(II) polymer complexes (1–4) of 3 ‐allyl‐5‐(4‐nitrophenylazo)‐2‐thio...

The proton conductivities of two silver ‐thiophene‐2‐carboxylate coordination polymer and the relationship between the dimensionality and properity
Two lower dimensional new silver(I) compounds have been obtained by replacing bidentate 2,5 ‐tpa with mono‐dentate tpa ligand in the reaction systems. In high humidity conditions, the dimensionality of coordination polymer has close relationship with the proton conductivity. Two 1D tpa complexes [Ag(tpa)(2 ‐apy)]n (1) and {[Ag(3 ‐apy)]·(tpa)·(H2O)}n (2) have been obtained from higher dimensional silver complex reaction systems and characterized. The complexes of1 and2 exhibit superprotonic conductivities with 3.27  × 10−2 S·cm−1 and 2.25  × 10−2 S·cm−1 respectively, in the same order of magnitud...

Biological evaluation of a novel amino acid ‐based macrocyclic Mn(III) and Fe(III) complexes
Metal complexes derived from curcumin based non ‐enolisable diketone and L‐Phenylalanine has been synthesized and the interaction of these metal complexes with CT‐DNA and BSA is studied using spectrocopic tools and computational docking studies. The complexes are found to bind with CT‐DNA via intercalation. The intrinsic flourescence of B SA is quenched by the complexes as a result of static quenching. It is found that the complexes act as a novel drug targets. A new tetradentate ligand 4 ‐benzylidine‐1,7‐bis(4‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxyphenyl)hepta‐1,6‐diene‐3,5‐bis(2‐imino‐3‐phenylpropanoic acid)...

Crystal growth, structural and spectroscopic characterization, antimicrobial activity, DNA cleavage, molecular docking and density functional theory calculations of Zn(II) complex with 2 ‐pyridinecarboxylic acid
Growth of a crystal of a complex of Zn(II) and 2 ‐pyridinecarboxylic acid was conducted. The crystal structure was characterized, spectral properties determined and antimicrobial and DNA cleavage studies carried out experimentally. Molecular docking of the complex with DNA was performed theoretically. A Zn(II) complex with 2 ‐pyridinecarboxylic acid was prepared, and its crystal structure characterization was carried out using X‐ray diffraction analysis. The spectroscopic properties of the Zn(II) complex were determined by means of Fourier transform infrared, Raman and UV–visible spectroscopic techniques. The coor ...

Synthesis and characterization of a new nanocomposite (FeW11V@CTAB ‐MMT) as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for oxidative desulfurization of gasoline
A new nanocomposite (FeW11V@CTAB ‐MMT) was designed as an efficient nanocatalyst for oxidative desulfurization (ODS) of gasoline. ODS was carried out, revealing that the removal efficiencies of thiophene, benzothiophene and dibenzothiophene were more than 97% in the presence of FeW11V@CTAB ‐MMT at 35 °C after 1 h. Kinetics of the catalytic ODS reactions was found to be pseudo‐first‐order. The catalyst was reusable for five runs without a discernible decrease in its activity. A new nanocomposite (FeW11V@CTAB ‐MMT) was designed on the basis of vanadium‐substituted tungstoferrate (FeW11V) and cetyltrimethylammo...

Stepwise post ‐modification immobilization of palladium Schiff‐base complex on to the OMS‐Cu (BDC) metal–organic framework for Mizoroki‐Heck cross‐coupling reaction
Modification of Cu (BDC) MOF toward the direct grafting of pyridyl salicylimine (2 ‐Py‐SI) and complexation of that with Pd ions was investigated. The synthesized PdII@Cu (BDC)/2 ‐Py‐SI MOF was then applied to Mizoroki‐Heck reaction. Palladium ions were successfully immobilized within the pores of open metal site (OMS) metal organic frameworks (MOFs) with Schiff ‐base (2‐Py‐SI) grafted in OMS‐Cu (BDC) using the hydrothermal method. This Schiff‐base complex on the Cu (BDC) greatly increased catalytic activity and acted as an efficient stabilizer of Pd ions. The hydrothermal method was a more efficient me...
