Endoscopic release of the median nerve in the proximal third of the forearm. A new approach
ConclusionsIt is possible to perform a complete decompression of the median nerve in the forearm using an endoscopic approach, safely with lower comorbidity for the patient.

Chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis in pediatrics: A diagnostic challenge
We present the case of a 14-year-old male with a 2-week history of pain located at the tibial metaphysis and fever. X-ray revealed a lytic lesion in the tibial metaphysis. MRI revealed an intramedullary bone lesion with perilesional bone oedema. CT-guided biopsy discounted malignancy and microbiological cultures were negative. The patient's symptoms and fever worsened after the biopsy; therefore antibiotherapy was commenced for a suspected superinfection. A body MRI was performed given the persistence of the fever, which found a second active lesion in the spine that was diagnosed as CRMO and progressed well with anti-infl...

Do surgical site complications after ankle fracture surgery reduce with Aquacel Extra Ag®?
ConclusionsThe theoretical advantages of silver impregnated dressings need further prospective randomised controlled studies to assess the appropriate indications for their use in orthopaedic surgery.

Comparative cohort study of the SuperPath approach and the conventional posterior approach in primary cementless hip replacement surgery
ConclusionThis prospective randomized study reveals that the learning curve for the SuperPath approach provides similar outcomes to the conventional posterior approach within the first year after surgery. The SuperPath approach was associated with longer skin-to-skin operation time, and greater blood loss.

Sociodemographic factors affecting the comprehension of clinical information by inpatients undergoing trauma surgery
ConclusionsIn clinical practice, it is fundamental to keep in mind the factors that affect the information process. According to our results, the factors that define greater vulnerability in relation to the information process are age and low educational level.

Tension subcutaneous haematomas associated with anticoagulants in the elderly: Do they have earlier morbidity and mortality than hip fractures?
ConclusionTension haematomas in the extremities associated with anticoagulants occur in patients with multiple comorbidities that make them vulnerable. Surgical drainage is usually delayed by numerous factors which lead to skin defects that require further surgical operations, and prolonged hospital stays that are associated with medical complications. In our study, the average length of stay and in-hospital mortality rate were higher than those for hip fractures, so we should not underestimate this pathology.

Chronic Achilles tendon rupture associated with rupture of the peroneus brevis tendon. A clinical case
We present a rare combination of a delayed Achilles tendon rupture and a peroneus brevis tendon rupture and its management. The importance of the presented case is the combination of both ruptures that adds difficulty to the surgical technique. A thorough analysis should be made of the magnetic resonance findings when planning a tendon transposition. To our knowledge, there are no reports of a simultaneous combination of an Achilles tendon rupture and a peroneus brevis tendon rupture.

Superior labral anterior to posterior (SLAP) injury in the workplace
ConclusionsSLAP injuries in the workplace are rare and are often a diagnostic finding during surgical intervention performed for a different associated injury. Arthro-magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance imaging have lower reliability than physical exams in the diagnosis of work-related SLAP injuries. A radiologist specializing in musculoskeletal pathology could probably improve the reliability of imaging test interpretation in work-related SLAP injuries.
