Prognosis and treatment of acrometastases: Observational study of 35 cases treated in a single institution
ConclusionAcrometastases are more frequently seen in the lower extremities and the most frequent tumour was hypernephroma followed by lung. The treatment of acrometastases depends on the prognosis of the primary tumour, so a multidisciplinary approach is essential. The mean survival in our series did not imply a poorer prognosis for acrometastases, so it is feasible to consider surgical options such as wide resection and reconstruction. Cost of osteoporotic hip fracture in Spain per Autonomous Region
ConclusionsOHF place a large burden on Spanish Regional Health Systems, including high economic costs. We found notable differences in mean costs across the Regions, mainly caused by the differential length of the first hospital stay and the outpatient care in subsequent months. In our study, 50% of the patients remain in complete remission with a mean follow-up of 23 months.
