Photodynamic therapy: An option in mycosis fungoides
Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common cutaneous T-cell lymphoma [1,2]. MF treatment is stage-related: skin directed therapies (SDT) are the gold standard in early-stage: chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or target therapy are commonly used in advanced phase [3]. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a well-known and effective treatment for non-melanoma skin-cancers (NMSCs) [4]. The treatment consists of the application of a photosensitizer gel followed by the exposure to a light source within the absorption spectrum of the photosensitizer [4].
