In vivo kinematics of a low contact stress rotating platform total knee arthroplasty system under weight bearing and non-weight bearing condition
Conclusions In conclusion, this study demonstrated that, in an LCS mobile-bearing TKA system, knee kinematics showed the same patterns under NWB and WB conditions, except for axial rotation at the early phase. Further understanding of knee kinematics could provide us with useful information for future design concepts of TKA implants. (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Science)

Prevalence of locomotive syndrome in Japan: a nationwide, cross-sectional Internet survey
Conclusions This study determined sex- and age-specific estimates for the GLFS-25 using a nationwide, cross-sectional Internet survey. The current results highlight the magnitude of the problem associated with LS and encourage further large-scale population-based epidemiologic studies to determine the accurate prevalence of LS using stratified random sampling. Significant increase of plasma tetranectin in ovx mice as defined by proteomics analysis
Conclusions On the basis of proteomics analysis, this study demonstrated that four plasma proteins were significantly elevated in the ovx mice; of these, tetranectin was markedly upregulated by almost 50 times compared with the sham mice. (Source: Journal of Orthopaedic Science)
