Distal retrograde access: Step by step
Publication date: Available online 20 July 2017 Source:Journal of Indian College of Cardiology Author(s): Tulio P. Navarro, Ricardo J. Procopio Complex long lesions are now in the endovascular realm, but with a rate of failure of 10 to 20% due to impossibility of crossing the lesion. Several CTO devices were developed by commercial companies but are expensive. Distal retrograde access is now the first choice approach in such scenario, improving procedure success, recanalization rate and limb salvage rate, being fast cheap and feasible in the majority of the cases, with low complication rates. The step by step is descri...

A case of unidirectional exit block during pulmonary vein isolation
We present a case of unidirectional exit block from a pulmonary vein (PV) during a pulmonary vein isolation procedure. Following circumferential antral applications around the right PVs, PV pacing showed capture without exit. Meanwhile coronary sinus pacing showed continuous presence of delayed PV potentials. Our case is a rare example of unidirectional exit block since unidirectional block usually concerns entrance block. (Source: Journal of Indian College of Cardiology)

Transradial access for carotid artery intervenions
Conclusions TRA may alternative choice for carotid artery stenting when the femoral access is precluded. In centers, specialized for transradial peripheral interventions the radial access is used with high success rate and low complication rate and the learning curve plays an important role in achiving less contrast consumption and radiation. May Thurner's Syndrome – A mistake in Planning
Conclusions With development in image technology and awareness, we are able to diagnose May Thurner's Syndrome more frequently than before. Consequently, we are able to treat DVT associated with this condition by a scientific approach with better outcome for the patient. However, long term results of such a strategy is awaited.
