Implementing early mobilisation in the intensive care unit: An integrative review
The intensive care unit provides complex care for critically ill patients. Consequently, due to the nature of critical illness and the therapies administered in intensive care, patients are often on prolonged periods of bed rest with limited mobility. It has been recognised that mobilising critically ill patients is beneficial to patients ’ recovery, however implementing early mobility as a standard of care remains challenging in practice. Patient-reported outcomes in multimorbidity intervention research: A scoping review
Although chronic disease management interventions for persons with multimorbidity are offered in primary healthcare, a strong evidence base supporting such interventions is still lacking. Patients ’ perceptions and experiences of living with a surgical wound healing by secondary intention: a qualitative study
Most surgical wounds heal by primary intention, that is to say, the edges of the wound are brought together with sutures, staples, adhesive glue or clips. However, some wounds may be left open to heal (if there is a risk of infection, or if there has been significant tissue loss), and are known as ‘surgical wounds healing by secondary intention’. They are estimated to comprise approximately 28% of all surgical wounds and are frequently complex to manage. However, they are under researched and little is known of their impact on patients’ lives. (Source: International Journal of Nursing Studies)

Singing as an adjunct therapy for children and adults with cystic fibrosis: A Cochrane review summary
For people living with cystic fibrosis (CF), maintaining a daily treatment regime to clear the airways and maintain physical well-being is important and recommended for those with more severe disease. This involves airway clearance techniques and exercise. Complying with a daily treatment regimen is challenging and can have a negative psychosocial impact, particularly among children and adolescents living with CF (D ’Auria et al., 2000; Glasscoe and Quittner, 2008).
