Vision loss secondary to orbital extension of rhabdomyosarcoma in an adult
Abstract A 57 year old African American woman presented with a six‐month history of progressively worsening right‐sided frontal headaches, nasal obstruction with epistaxis, cough, and vision loss of the right eye. She was treated for presumed sinusitis with antibiotics, steroid spray, and a decongestant without relief. (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)

Region ‐specific ischemia, neovascularization and macular edema in treatment‐naïve proliferative diabetic retinopathy
Conclusions and RelevanceThe region‐specific correlation of non‐perfusion‐index of far‐periphery and neovascularization‐index of mid‐periphery, but not with central retinal thickness, suggests different pathogeneses of neovascularization and macular edema. Retinal nerve fiber layer and ganglion cell layer, both biomarkers of diabetic retinal neuronopathy, are associated with retinal ischemia, but not with macular edema, suggesting that diabetic microangiopathy and neuronopathy possess distinct pathogenic pathways. The strong correlation between macular edema and inner nuclear layer indicates that intracellular ...

Does including colour ‐blind men enhance search and rescue teams?
Abstract Dating back many years there are anecdotal reports that persons with colour‐vision deficits (CVD) have unusual abilities to locate camouflaged installations not otherwise apparent to individuals with normal trichromatic colour vision (nCV).1, 2 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)

Surfboard ‐related intraorbital foreign bodies – a case series and radiological considerations
Abstract Surfing is associated with a risk of trauma and the majority of these involve the head and neck (1). Increasingly surfboard‐related eye injuries are being reported and some cases describe devastating ocular sequelae (2). (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)

Electron microscopic findings of an explanted retropupillary Artisan lens three years after implantation
Abstract Retropupillary fixation of the Artisan iris claw lens (Ophtec, Groningen, Netherlands) has been shown to be a very useful option in the setting of intraocular lens (IOL) implantation where capsular support is lacking, and giving good visual and refractive outcomes in children (1). Bevacizumab and Bleomycin combination for treatment of orbital lymphatico ‐venous malformation recalcitrant to sclerosing therapy alone
Abstract Orbital lymphatico‐venous malformations (LVMs) represent a spectrum of disease from lymphatic dominant to venous dominant lesions, and present unique, challenging management issues both at the lymphatic and venous dominant ends. (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)

Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty developing spontaneous ‘malignant glaucoma’ secondary to gas misdirection
Abstract Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) is increasingly being performed in eyes with corneal decompensation secondary to endothelial disease.1 The advantages of DMEK include faster visual recovery and a lower immune rejection rate.1,2 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)
