Foetal bovine serum can reduce toxicity of indocyanine green, brilliant blue G and trypan blue in ARPE ‐19 cellular model that suggests new surgical staining protocols for internal limiting membrane peeling procedure
ConclusionsAs a rinse buffer FBS performs much better than BSS in terms of cell rescue, which agrees with a clinical report when autologous whole blood was applied to macular hole surgery. However, FBS pre‐treatment seems to be much better than FBS use as washout buffer in post‐treatment. (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)

Long ‐term progression after laser peripheral iridotomy in Caucasian primary angle closure suspects
Abstract Laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) can prevent acute attacks and open the angle in primary angle closure suspects (PACS), yet up to 35% percent of patients have a ‘closed angle’ after LPI.(1) Are only these eyes at risk of progression? (Source: Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology)

Clinical outcomes after Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty using donor corneas from children younger than 3 years
Conclusion and RelevanceDSEK with paediatric donor corneas can achieve good clinical outcomes. The corneal lenticules from 1‐ to 3‐year‐ old donors are suitable for DSEK while those from donors <1‐year‐old are less suitable due to the possibility of severe postoperative graft contraction.
