Reuters: An American citizen was sentenced to a year in prison in the United Arab Emirates on Monday for posting a parody video on YouTube which pokes fun at young Emirati men who imitate U.S. hip-hop culture, his family said. The Death Of Bernard Shaw
The NY Times is reporting that Bernard Shaw has died. Shaw was the husband and former bodyguard of Patty Hearst. During the 1980s, Shaw and Hearst lived in my teen-years hometown in CT. The news reminded me that my mom used to see Patty Hearst at the Minute Man cleaners, where they were both customers. And an old friend first encountered Hearst in, of all places, a bank.
