Like many of the people who have helped to establish Cochrane, Bill Silverman could be regarded as a ’troublemaker’. As he reiterated frequently, however, criticism is a form of troublemaking that can help to drive progress. External link for more information:&...

Cochrane South Africa invites applications for the Aubrey Sheiham Evidence-based Health Care in Africa Leadership Award 2015
Prof. Aubrey Sheiham is a longtime supporter of Cochrane’s work and mission. Since 2001, through Prof. Sheiham’s generosity, Cochrane researchers from low- and middle-income countries have been funded and supported to complete a Cochrane Review on a topic relevant to their region, and to cascade knowledge about Cochrane and evidence-based health care (EBHC) to their local networks. The award has been administered since 2014 by Cochrane South Africa (SA) which is based in Cape Town and actively co-ordinates regional activities for Cochrane in Africa.
