Co-ordinating Editor named in 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours List
Professor Nicky Cullum, Co-ordinating Editor of the Cochrane Wounds Group, has been named a Dame Commander of the British Empire in the 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours List. Cochrane Collaboration announces launch of Publish When Ready model
On 3 June 2013, The Cochrane Collaboration announced the official launch of the continuous publishing model (also called Publish When Ready (PWR)). Going forward, all Cochrane Reviews and Protocols published on the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (one of the databases of The Cochrane Library) will be eligible for immediate publication, following successful completion of pre-publication editorial processes. Launch of the Caribbean Branch of the US Cochrane Center
The Caribbean Branch of the US Cochrane Center (CBUSCC) was launched on 6 June 2013.CBUSCC will represent and promote The Cochrane Collaboration across the English-speaking Caribbean. CBUSCC is located at the University of West Indies (UWI) in Mona, Jamaica. European Parliament committee to vote on changes to clinical trials regulation on 29 May
The Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee of the European Parliament, which is made up of 67 members (MEPs) from 22 countries, is currently scrutinising the Clinical Trials Regulation. On Wednesday 29 May the committee will vote on changes to the regulation. There are proposals on the table that could greatly increase clinical trial transparency and would mean that all clinical trials for medicines licensed in Europe would have to be registered and the results reported. Cochrane Collaboration confirms plans to switch to Publish When Ready model in June 2013
The Cochrane Collaboration has announced plans to change the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (one of the databases of The Cochrane Library) from its current model of monthly publication to a continuous publishing model (also called Publish When Ready (PWR)). When the new model takes effect, from 3 June 2013, it will be possible to publish Cochrane Reviews and Protocols as soon as they have been designated as ready for publication, rather than waiting for the next monthly publication.
