List of countries eligible for free one-click access to the Cochrane Library in 2016
Following the 2016 annual review, we are delighted to confirm that Wiley will offer free access to the Cochrane Library including more than 9,000 full text Cochrane Systematic Reviews and Protocols in 117 countries with approximately 2 billion people. One-click free access is provided by country IP recognition for all of the included countries, so no individual login is needed. Call for tender for the provision of training in systematic reviews
I wanted to raise to your attention a tender call on training for systematic reviews . As many of you conduct training on systematic reviews and this is open to non-EU groups, I wanted to ensure you all were made aware of this call. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA: http://www.efsa.europa.eu/) has recently published a call for tender for the provision of “Training in Systematic Reviews or in specific steps of Systematic Reviews for EFSA risk assessment”.  The maximum budget available is 330.000 Euros. Staff Update: Welcome (back) and congratulations
I am pleased to announce that Catherine McIlwain has returned from maternity leave today. Catherine will be taking up a new post, the Membership Coordinator, as part of the CEAD team. Important change to the 2014 Impact Factor of the CDSR
Journal Impact Factors are released every year in June and are published by Thomson in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The JCR is updated on an annual basis in September.Following the update of the JCR this year, the Impact Factor for the CDSR has increased from 6.032 to 6.035. One review was removed from the denominator of the CDSR Impact Factor calculation. The previous number of citable items was 1,978, it is now 1,977. Finance and Core Services announces changes to structure and team
Sarah Watson, Head of Cochrane's Finance and Core Services (FCS) team, has announced that, following a departmental re-structure, Abdullah Umar has left his position as Finance Manager, effective 8 December 2015. Following this departure, this role has become redundant, and FCS will be hiring a temporary Book Keeper and Finance Business Partner in early 2016.
