Variation in interferon-γ production between QFT-Plus and QFT-GIT assays in TB contact investigation
ConclusionsQFT-Plus revealed significantly higher positivity rate compared with QFT-GIT, which might be attributed to increased IFN-γ production. The cut-off in both QFT-Plus and QFT-GIT was 0.35 IU/mL. These effects might resulted in the higher positivity rate in QFT-Plus. (Source: Respiratory Investigation)

Association of specific metastatic organs with the prognosis and chemotherapeutic response in patients with advanced lung cancer
ConclusionsMuscle and liver metastases were associated with poor outcomes. Muscle and skin metastases were associated with a lower response rate to treatment. For patients with advanced lung cancer, oncologists should select treatment strategies considering the patients’ metastatic statuses as well as other clinical characteristics. Objective measurement of nocturnal cough in infants with acute bronchiolitis
ConclusionsOur data demonstrated that the number of coughing events due to acute bronchiolitis was similar to that of acute asthma exacerbation, although the acute bronchiolitis did not show a characteristic overnight cough pattern. (Source: Respiratory Investigation)

Outcomes of prolonged mechanical ventilation in patients who underwent bedside percutaneous dilatation tracheostomy in intermediate care units – A single center study
ConclusionThe prognosis of CCI patients in intermediate care units is generally poor. Identified risk factors for complications and survival should be presented to patients and their surrogates when discussing courses of action and future treatments. (Source: Respiratory Investigation)

Pre-existing interstitial lung abnormalities are risk factors for immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced interstitial lung disease in non-small cell lung cancer
ConclusionsPre-existing ILA are risk factors for ICI-ILD and GGA in ILA is an independent risk factor for ICI-ILD. Therefore, we should be more aware of the development of ICI-ILD in patients with ILA, especially those with GGA. (Source: Respiratory Investigation)

Clinical features of interstitial pneumonia associated with systemic lupus erythematosus
ConclusionIn SLE cases, IP primarily occurred in male and elderly patients. In addition to the NSIP pattern, the UIP pattern was evident on HRCT scans of IP-related SLE. The survival of SLE patients was unrelated to IP. (Source: Respiratory Investigation)
