A Disease Around the Corner
The Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome coronavirus outbreak in the Republic of Korea has taken the world by surprise for its scale because the Republic of Korea is regarded to have one of the most advanced medical and public health systems worldwide. Now, a question has arisen—what would be the next infectious disease that could affect Korea? Considering the impact of climate change and vector existence in Korea, dengue fever (DF) is the most probable disease to affect Korea in a different aspect. Anti-biofilm Properties of Peganum harmala against Candida albicans
Vaginitis still remains a health issue in women. It is notable that Candida albicans produces a biofilm and is considered as the microorganism responsible for vaginitis that is hard to treat. Also, Peganum harmala has been applied as an antifungal treatment for many infections in Iran. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the role of P. harmala in the inhibition of biofilm formation in C. albicans. Therefore, 27 C. albicans samples were collected from women with vaginitis, and then subjected to a biofilm formation assay. (Source: Osong Public Health and Research Perspectives)

Traditional and modern cell culture in virus diagnosis
Cell culture are developed with taken from tissues and disaggregated by mechanical, chemical and use of enzyme provided the suitable cells for virus isolation. Despite progressing in cell culture, it is debated in cell culture as gold standard for virus isolation. In this review, we try to show the cell culture pattern from beginning until now and show why the cell culture remains as a method for virus identification? The advantages and disadvantages of traditional and modern cell culture for diagnosis of each type of viruses is discussed. (Source: Osong Public Health and Research Perspectives)
