Anti-biofilm Properties of Peganum harmala against Candida albicans

Vaginitis still remains a health issue in women. It is notable that Candida albicans produces a biofilm and is considered as the microorganism responsible for vaginitis that is hard to treat. Also, Peganum harmala has been applied as an antifungal treatment for many infections in Iran. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the role of P. harmala in the inhibition of biofilm formation in C. albicans. Therefore, 27 C. albicans samples were collected from women with vaginitis, and then subjected to a biofilm formation assay.
