Impact of histopathological variant on the outcome of patients treated by radical cystectomy.
CONCLUSIONS: The pathologic stages at RC and lymph node involvement are predictors for OS. Because of its aggressive nature, histopathologic variance is an independent risk factor determining the outcome in terms of both morbidity and mortality.

A Comparison Between ThinPrep Monolayer and Cytospin Cytology for the Detection of Bladder Cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that ThinPrep cytology has no advantage in the diagnosis of bladder cancer of a low grade or low stage.

Does the time from biopsy to radical prostatectomy affect Gleason score upgrading in patients with clinical t1c prostate cancer?
CONCLUSIONS: We suggest that the time period between biopsy and surgery is a significant factor that affects GSU in patients with clinically localized PCa.

The changes of voiding pattern after midurethral sling between pure stress urinary incontinence and stress urinary incontinence with overactive bladder group.
CONCLUSIONS: OAB may occur in approximately 18% of SUI patients who undergo MUS surgery, and voiding dysfunctions with deteriorated voiding symptom and storage symptom may also occur. The deteriorated OAB was shown in 45% of SUI patients with OAB after the surgery.

A population-based study of factors associated with nocturia in reproductive-aged Turkish women.
CONCLUSIONS: Although the prevalence of nocturia is higher with increasing age, younger adults are also affected. Nocturia may cause sleep disorders, mood disturbances, reduced quality of life, and distractibility. Thus, even if one void nightly causes a patient to experience bother, nocturia should be queried about and should be treated if necessary according to the cause of the disease.

Effect of potassium magnesium citrate and vitamin B-6 prophylaxis for recurrent and multiple calcium oxalate and phosphate urolithiasis.

Beta-Defensin 124 Is Required for Efficient Innate Immune Responses in Prostate Epithelial RWPE-1 Cells.
CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, these results provide strong evidence for the first time that increased DEFB124 expression via NF-κB activation in PGN-exposed RWPE-1 cells enhances the production of cytokines and chemokines, which may contribute to an efficient innate immune defense.

The type of nephrectomy has little effect on overall survival or cardiac events in patients of 70 years and older with localized clinical t1 stage renal masses.
CONCLUSIONS: Although chronic kidney disease was lower after PN, overall survival and cardiac events were similar regardless of type of nephrectomy.

Predictors of intravesical recurrence after radical nephroureterectomy for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma: an inflammation-based prognostic score.
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that the GPS as well as performance status, DM, and cortical thinning are associated with intravesical recurrence after RNU. Thus, more careful follow-up, coupled with postoperative intravesical therapy to avoid bladder recurrence, should be considered in these patients.

Factors influencing the acceptance of transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies.
CONCLUSIONS: The patients' acceptance of prostate biopsy can be influenced by demographic characteristics, especially education level. Therefore, when prostate biopsy is recommended to patients, their demographic characteristics should be taken into consideration.

Is there an association between serum prostate-specific antigen values and serum testosterone levels in healthy men?
CONCLUSIONS: No impact of testosterone was found on the PSA level in healthy men with PSA <4 ng/mL. Therefore, a high serum testosterone level may not mandate adjustment of PSA values. This serum sex hormone showed a significant increment after the age of 50 years. Further studies including a larger number of patients should be carried out to confirm these findings.
