Assessing the validity of Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2 (PI-RADS v2) scoring system in diagnosis of peripheral zone prostate cancer
ConclusionOur results proved that mp-MRI of prostate using PI-RADS v2 scoring system had high sensitivity and specificity in diagnosis of prostate cancer and PI-RADS V2 scoring system using mp-MRI is recommended as a non-invasive diagnostic tool compared to TRUS guided biopsy. CT arthrography of adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder: Are MR signs applicable?
ConclusionDecreased axillary width, and thickened axillary capsule are MR signs of AC applicable to CTA. Evaluation of rotator interval seems useful and reproducible only for obliteration. (Source: European Journal of Radiology Open)

Measurements of metastatic renal cell tumours as determined by diffusion weighted imaging or computed tomography are in close agreement, a pilot study
ConclusionMeasurement of the size of metastatic lesions on the basis of axial DWI images are in close agreement with measurement based on conventional axial CT images, the most often employed approach in clinical trials today. The results in this pilot study can be used to estimate sufficient sample size in a larger trial with adequate power, were the results can be confirmed in a wider range of cancers other than renal cell carcinoma. MRI rare finding: Absence of the left liver lobe
We report a rare case of left liver lobe absence in an 80-year-old male patient discovered during an MRI scan. The main imaging features of this condition are briefly reviewed, together with its pathogenesis and the most common associations and differential diagnoses. Image quality and contrast agent exposure in cardiac computed tomography angiography prior to transcatheter aortic valve implantation procedures using different acquisition protocols
ConclusionProspectively triggered CCTA allows for improved visualization of aortic valve structures and peripheral arteries in patients scheduled for TAVI with simultaneously reduced contrast agent dose and radiation exposure. Therefore, this acquisition mode seems to be the preferred for the evaluation of patients considered for TAVI. (Source: European Journal of Radiology Open)

Assessment of stereotactic radiosurgery treatment response for brain metastases using MRI based diffusion index
ConclusionOur results support the hypothesis that ADC and tumor volume generated DT at baseline, one month and six months post SRS may be a promising biomarker predicting brain metastases’ response. Specifically, a lower DI at baseline and one month distinguished responders from non-responders. (Source: European Journal of Radiology Open)

Saccular Kommerell aneurysm, a potential pitfall on MDCT imaging – A review of imaging features and potential mimics
Publication date: 2017Source: European Journal of Radiology Open, Volume 4Author(s): Hui Lin Wong, Charlene Jin Yee Liew, Angeline Choo Choo PohAbstractSaccular Kommerell aneurysm represents a potential pitfall on Multidetector CT (MDCT) imaging, mimicking conditions such as saccular aneurysm of the thoracic aorta, ductus diverticulum and dilated Kommerell diverticulum. Accurate diagnosis of this condition is critical in the management of this potentially fatal condition. This paper reviews the MDCT imaging features of Kommerell aneurysms and its mimics and demonstrates how to make an accurate diagnosis through a series of...

Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) histogram biomarkers for prediction of neoadjuvant treatment response in breast cancer patients
ConclusionDp metrics showed prognostic capabilities; slow and heterogeneous pseudodiffusion offer poor prognosis. Baseline ADC/Dt parameters were not significant predictors of response. This work suggests that IVIM mean values and heterogeneity metrics may have prognostic value in the setting of breast cancer NAT. (Source: European Journal of Radiology Open)

Patient-specific workup of adrenal incidentalomas
Conclusion: A prediction model can accurately predict if an adrenal incidentaloma patient is at risk for malignancy or hormonal hyperfunction of the adrenal gland based on initial imaging features and patient demographics. However, with most adrenal incidentalomas labeled as nonfunctional adrenocortical adenomas requiring no further treatment, it is likely that more patients could be omitting from unnecessary diagnostics.
