Relationship between habitual physical activity, motor capacity, and capability in children with cerebral palsy aged 4 –5 years across all functional abilities
Children with cerebral palsy (CP) have lower habitual physical activity (HPA) than their typically developing peers. There are limited studies of HPA in young children with CP under the age of 5 years. (Source: Disability and Health Journal)

The effectiveness of a serious game to enhance empathy for care workers for people with disabilities: A parallel randomized controlled trial
Empathic care is fundamental in healthcare settings and is associated to several positive outcomes for care workers (i.e. burnout, compassion satisfaction) and patients (i.e. therapeutic alliance, trust, wellbeing). Yet, studies showed a decrease in empathy in care workers, which is argued to be a product of personal distress. Thus, interventions should aim at enhancing empathy in care workers working for vulnerable populations to ensure optimal client-carer relationships. (Source: Disability and Health Journal)

Recess and children with disabilities: A mixed-methods pilot study
It is well-understood that children's social relationships are intrinsically linked to their overall health trajectories. Recess is the only time in the school day that children are free to play and socialize. Yet research on recess consistently indicates that many school playgrounds are challenged by a social landscape that is not conducive to meaningful play. While all children are susceptible to negative social experiences, children with disabilities are at a heightened risk for exclusion and victimization. (Source: Disability and Health Journal)

Knowledge translation and the health of people with disability
Description of dissemination activities has been a staple requirement for all funded research for some time. Researchers usually spend a great deal of time developing a strong research design with rigorous methods, a data management plan, and often the dissemination plan is manuscript development for submission to various journals focusing on applicability to specialty interests. We and other journals have benefited greatly from excellent outputs from funded scientists and researchers. Dissemination continues to be the language that we use for the distribution of all things scientific. (Source: Disability and Health Journal)
