Examining the roles of self-compassion and resilience on health-related quality of life for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis
There are over 400,000 individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the U.S. These individuals experience unpredictable relapses of disabling conditions and poorer quality of life than the general population. Experiences of persons with spinal cord injury undertaking a physical activity programme as part of the SCIPA ‘Full-On’ randomised controlled trial
For individuals with spinal cord injury the long term benefits of physical activity are well documented, however the majority of this population report inactivity secondary to participatory barriers. Research investigating physically intensive exercise programs for people with spinal cord injury is limited, with even less attention paid to the experience of the participants. A quantitative assessment of the effectiveness of USDA's AgrAbility project
There is evidence that the combination of assistive technology and education increases ability to live and work independently, which in turn increases the quality of life (QOL) levels of adults with disabilities. No previously published treatment-comparison group intervention studies were found with adult farmers and ranchers with disabilities. Knowing how effective USDA's AgrAbility Project is at increasing this population's QOL and independent living and working (ILW) levels will reinforce and inform change in AgrAbility and will provide outcomes for stakeholders and public decision makers to better address agricultural ...

Sources of data about disability
Asking a good question is the foundation of all research. Obtaining sufficient data to answer the question in an accurate and unbiased way is essential to the field of disability and health. Finding good sources of data is especially relevant in our field, which has limited external funding and a small but growing cadre of investigators. Every once in a while, it is important to pause and ask ourselves if we are exploiting the resources that already exist, so that we can ask and answer as many questions as possible.
